Services
Parkland Veterinary Hospital was originally opened in Parkland Mall in Red Deer in 1976 by Jan Brigden. Soon after, the expanded business moved to North Red Deer. Now, after serving the Red Deer community for 40 years, we have moved to Sylvan Lake. Dr. Lana Keating provides superior client service that has been maintained throughout the clinic's history.
Dr. Lana Keating graduated with distinction from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon in 1998. Originally from Saskatchewan, she has been at the Parkland Veterinary Hospital since 2001. Lana has a special interest in dermatology and ophthalmology. She also enjoys laser surgery, soft tissue surgery and therapeutic/rehabilitative laser therapy.
Firstly, thank you for getting Lenny in to be seen so quickly. Secondly, thank you for catching a med error from our previous vet. Dr. Keating was great and had a lot of knowledge about eye infections, treatment and care. You love our animals as your own. I really appreciate the call from Dr Anderson on further treatment and tips to help our new puppy.

We are very happy with the care and professional service we have experienced at Parkland Veterinary Hospital. From the patient handling of our phone questions to the thorough follow up after a surgery, the staff have been exceptional. Thanks so much for relieving any anxiety about the surgery, Covid protocols, and patient care. We came through this with flying colours... and our puppy, Tucker is doing very well, too.

This is the best vet clinic I have been to. They take such amazing care of my pups when we are there and the girls are all so friendly. Anytime I had questions or was being a worried momma, they would always answer all my questions and make me feel better. My boy was just in for dental surgery and the bill ended up being less than the quote. They are not trying to charge you for things you don’t need. I appreciate everyone at this office so much! Thank you!!!!!

Thank you to Dr Keating and the great staff of Parkland Vet, Sylvan Lake. They looked after Jax for the last 10 years. Everything was always explained very well and options were always given for any treatment that was required. Jax lived to be just over 13 years old but sadly passed at the end of March. If and when I adopt a new pet I will be using Parkland Vet again as my vet.

Terrible, insensitive mannerisms from one of your staff members during my family's visit today. I didn't catch his name, but the male vet on your team was appalling with how rude he was. Our dog had to be put down, and we wanted to give him a walk before it happened, and your male staff member was incredibly rude, telling us that "we are closing soon and you need to make it quick", despite the emotional distress that was caused by having to put the dog down. There was no care for how we were feeling, and he seemed to not even care about how traumatic it is to lose a family pet. The ladies who were

Dr Keating is an amazing vet and her staff are all super friendly and make you feel at home. She never upsells her services, but only recommends what your pet truly needs. They phone to follow up on your pet and offer free follow up exams after she has treated your pet to make sure all is well. Hands down, the best vet.

I have been going to Parkland Vet Hospital for two years now and have received nothing but exceptional service! I live in Calgary but refuse to go anywhere else. They really do have the best interest for your pets and truly care. I have two, two-year-old cats who have both unfortunately gotten really sick in the past, but the staff at Parkland Vet quickly got them on their feet again. A big THANK YOU to all the staff! You are very much appreciated for everything you've done and continue to do for our beloved pets!
