Founded in 2007, Best Roest & Co LLP is a Chartered Professional Accounting firm located in Lethbridge, Alberta, working primarily with small businesses. Our firm is a proud member of the local community, having developed strong relationships with individuals and business owners throughout the region.
We take financial information provided by our clients and compile Notice to Reader financial statements in order to prepare corporate income tax returns. We also use the financial statements to have meaningful discussions regarding operations of the company and future goals. We do not audit the client's financial information, however, we prepare the necessary adjustments to ensure the financial statements are not false or misleading.
There are many different corporate structures that can be used to facilitate tax planning and provide creditor proofing options to our clients. We monitor changes in the client's situation and discuss potential structures and benefits when appropriate. Sometimes there are changes in ownership which creates a need for special tax considerations.
Our team has experience using several different versions of accounting software. Sage 50 (formerly Simply Accounting) and QuickBooks (desktop and online versions) are commonly used. We can also provide custom bookkeeping packages, depending on client needs. Many times the client tracks accounts receivable, pays bills and prepares payroll themselves.
This topic can encompass many different scenarios as every business has different needs. We can assist with topics such as cost analysis, inventory management, credit management procedures, accounting procedures and policies, departmental profitability, and human resources issues. Cash flow issues can be caused by such things as low profitability, slow accounts receivable collection, high debt repayments and increased shareholder draws.
