The Backyard Pool & Spa Company was started by owner Don Smith in 1994. Backyard Pools is a family owned and operated business, with his sister Gail and 2 sons Alex and Josh working alongside Don. He and his sons are proud 2nd and 3rd generation retail business owners. Don followed in the footsteps of his father Eric, who was a founding member of the Aurora Chamber of Commerce and showed Don the ins and outs of business while growing up.
As a Weber Alliance dealer since 2015, Backyard Pools has access to Weber's full catalogue of barbecues and accessories as well as replacement parts for many older model Weber barbecues. Backyard Pool & Spa has been a proud dealer of MAAX brand hot tubs since our company's inception in 1994. Below you will find all available models from MAAX Spas' multiple lines of hot tubs as well as our line of Vortex spas.
Backyard Pools offers a number of services for your pool and hot tub including: opening and closing, liner replacement, safety cover installation, salt systems, solar panel installations, general pool service, and general spa service. Our professional opening and closing teams provide you with award winning service and support that we stand behind.
Below you will find some helpful instructions on opening and closing your own above ground or in ground pool. When water level is up make sure the filter is in filter position and then start the pump. When water level is at proper winterizing level, remove all drain plugs from pump, filter, heater, and chlorinator.
Depending on the sanitization system you are using, here are some quick and easy maintenance sheets for your hot tub. Depending on use every other time you use tub put one large scoop of Spa Shock and leave cover open for 5 minutes. Drain spa and refill every 6 months, Spa Marvel cleanser does not have to be added each time.

Huge shout out to these guys for coming to my rescue and fixing my hot tub so quickly, and in freezing cold windy conditions as well! All the water leaked out of my hot tub- I had no idea why. Turns out all the seals on my pumps had gone. James replaced them and got the hot tub running again. Thanks James. You were terrific!

This is like a dream store for a back yard junkie like me. Weber and BGE resellers, and all sorts of pool and spa gear. We just had our Vortex St. Louis spa installed yesterday, and their customer service has been top notch. From the starter chem kit, to the patient and helpful advice, they are my first stop for all my pool, spa, and grilling needs from now on.

I highly recommend the Vortex Hydrozone Swim Spa/Hot Tub + Backyard Pool and Spa. Service & Support has been outstanding and the Hydrozone is sensational! The workout in the Swim Spa is far better than lane swim, and I can now swim whenever I want - 24/7. The Standing-Full-Body-Massage-Jets in the corners of the Swim Spa are a huge free add-on; so soothing after a swim workout and a fantastic place to stand in the blazing sun on a summer day. The Hot Tub is so soothing & relaxing; especially The Lounger. I covered my Hydrozone with a Portable Garage so I can swim in winter. It's -8 degrees Celcius

Purchased our Spa May 2021 and I must say during these crazy pandemic times Ty was more than exceptional. He recommended a spa to suit our needs and we purchased without even visiting the store, he was very knowledgeable and with the crazy spa prices out there we were very happy with the fair pricing they were offering. Went in to buy a BBQ after getting a few local recommendations to go to BPS. Rich gave me a great walkthrough on available models and was patient and helpful while I weighed my decision. They gave me a great deal - throwing in assembly, delivery, and accessories. Even when a part was missing on delivery they solved the problem immediately, and Rich my salesperson offered to drive the part to me personally. Im super happy with my BBQ, and blown away at how quickly they were able to meet my needs and answer all my questions. 5/5 - I won't hesitate to send my friends here in the future.

Very Happy with price and service, just bought my second hot tub from Back Yard Pools and Spa. Ty and his team of professionals have been super helpful during the entire process, starting from the pre-purchase onslaught of questions from myself all the way to the arrival of our swim spa. We finally decided with the Vortex Aqualap 19. The kids absolutely love that they can swim outdoors in the winter, and the adults can sit back and enjoy the spa portion. The delivery team were really professional and efficient. We also had a post delivery/set-up check up from one of the team members, who answered all of our questions. Worst service ever. Have paid over $700 for a technician to fix our spa. The technician left early, before confirming that the leak and other things were working, to run to another appointment. Have been calling and leaving messages and nothing is being done. It has been almost 3 months and still can’t use my hot tub. Regret ever doing business with them.

Have dealt with Backyard Pool & Spa for many years now. We recently had a new liner put in. It turned out it had 3 very small leaks. Don and his crew at Backyard were very proactive and responsive in correcting the issues and guaranteed the repairs for the life of the liner. We received our spa pool today. Many delays because of Covid and what not. Finally got our delivery date and it went perfectly. Ty and everyone else were awesome. Even the "crane guy" they use is great. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely recommend! Spectacular spa pool and an even better team to work with.
