Downs Construction is a Certified Firm with the IICRC (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning, and Restoration Certification) and our carpet and cleaning are trained and certified by the IICRC to properly clean and care for your carpets, area rugs, and upholstered furniture. Rugs and carpeting can be heavily damaged in emergency situations.
High levels of mould growth within a residence or building can cause health problems for some people and special precautions are required to remove the mould. Our water damage technicians are trained and certified to remove mould properly and safely. It does not matter if you are in an office or at home, you want to breathe easy knowing that you aren't inhaling mould spores that can trigger allergic reactions or respiratory issues.
Asbestos was used in the manufacture of many building materials up until the mid 1980's when it's use was banned by the Government. Having building products in your home that contain asbestos is not usually a risk. The risk involved begins once the materials containing asbestos are disturbed and the asbestos fibres are released into the environment.

This past fall, our kitchen floor was inadvertently flooded. In a panic, we called Downs Construction on the basis of their many good reviews. Brendan came to our house, did moisture testing, and gave us helpful instructions on how to mitigate possible damage with dehumidifiers, heaters, and lifting carpets, etc. A week later he returned and did further testing, which confirmed that we had solved our problem thanks to his knowledgable help! I found Brendan (project manager) to be very knowledgeable/professional and I appreciated his timely response/feedback to my e-mails/texts keeping the project on schedule.
Brendan's team - Jude (carpenter), DGA Clean Air Services (Gary Osolit and sons) and Interigo Drywall/Paint (David Stone) were also professional, knowledgeable, respectful, on time, friendly, answered all of my questions plus they did a great job!!
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company, really happy with the result.

I had a flood a few months ago and started out working with On Side. That quickly went down hill and Downs ended up picking up the ball. They have been outstanding, repaired damage done by the other company, were accomodating and professional throughout the job. I would recommend them in a heartbeat. Brendan and his team went above and beyond for my flooring job. My floor had water damage and had to be replaced. From consultation to installation, the team was quick, friendly, and very detailed oriented. They came with dehumidifiers to ensure no mold would grow. At the time of install They took great care in packing up my items and. labeling the boxes. Poor guys even had to shovel snow to get to my door, and one even helped push my car when it got stuck in the snow.

We had the pleasure of working with Downs Constuction on a major water leak in our home. Vlad and the team at Downs did a wonderful job on our behalf. They supplied painters, plumbers, dry wallers, finish carpenters, movers and cleaners. All involved did a magnificent job. We are so grateful and so happy we found Downs Construction to help us. My house was damaged by a car which will be fully covered by ICBC insurance. Downs Construction staff did come to help me to clean the debree of the damages and boarded the house up. However, I have been waiting for Construction company for the solution s how to fix my house more than 4 weeks and no response. I tried to contact the people who is in charge for repairing my house, but no response and just told me that they are waiting for engineering report. I asked for any updates, then no reply. ThIs was our second experience with Downs and both were fantastic. The sevice was prompt and professional. Even had 2 guys up on a ladder in the rain and dark to patch the hole in my house. The work was completed quickly and well A big shout out to Dales Electric of Sooke for being on site within an hour

My experience has not been good. If I had a choice I would have fired them long ago. Unfortunately the landlord chose them. Way to many excuses and clearly no supervision of crews. A minor flood that happened in September and we still do not have a complete home. It's now November and one day they might take responsibility for the crews they choose to hire and choose to work with but I doubt it. Their concept is great tho
