Active Earth Engineering

In 2007, Geoscientist David Kneale and Geological Engineer Matt Pye joined forces to create Active Earth, an Environmental Engineering firm named in recognition of the earth's constantly changing state. With headquarters first based out of two family-home garages in Vancouver and Victoria, the company quickly grew to include three B.C. office locations and nearly 25 team members.

Since 2007, Active Earth has completed over 2,000 independent environmental investigations in Southwestern B.C. and Vancouver Island. Our investigation process is efficient, thorough, and cost-effective. All investigations are completed by highly-skilled team members with experience in a wide range of site conditions.

Active Earth's team includes four highly-qualified hydrogeologists with over 70 years of combined experience throughout Western Canada in a variety of geological environments. We conduct Hydrogeological Investigations for the development of groundwater supplies, geothermal resources, exfiltration of stormwater, and as part of Environmental Impact Studies.

Since 2007, Active Earth's environmental/geotechnical engineers have provided geotechnical investigation, design, and construction services as an extension of our environmental site assessment work.

By incorporating geotechnical requirements into the planning and implementation of our site investigation work and incorporating geotechnical design considerations into our site remediation plans, Active Earth maximizes the efficiency and minimizes the cost of the investigation and site preparation.
