Services
Our veterinarians are all graduates of the Ontario Veterinary College with years of experience caring for dogs, cats and other animals of all shapes and sizes. Our patients are cared for by a team of four full-time veterinarians as well as a pair of locum veterinary surgeons who visit the practice to perform specialized surgical procedures (specifically our laparoscopic procedures).
The veterinarians at Eglinton Vet are supported by a compassionate team including our practice manager, customer service team, veterinary technicians and animal care assistants. We are pet owners just like our clients! Bob earned his Honours Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Guelph in 1979, and joined Eglinton Vet after graduating from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1984.
Eglinton Veterinary offers a broad range of health and wellness services for your cat or dog. We insure excellence by combining the knowledge and compassion of our team with the latest in veterinary technology, including: digital radiology for both standard and dental x-rays, a sophisticated in-house laboratory, surgical laparoscope, therapeutic laser and computerized medical records.
Our site near Yonge and Eglinton has housed a veterinary clinic since the 1930s and we are thrilled to be able to continue helping people and pets from North Toronto and beyond. Some of Eglinton Vet's current veterinarians grew up in the neighbourhood, attended local schools and have moved back to the area as adults.

Situated across from Eglinton Park and the North Toronto Community Center, the clinic lies in the heart of Toronto, close to the vibrant Yonge/Eglinton intersection.

I have been going with them for half a year and my experience has been great so far. They're nice, have good customer service, they're professional and knowledgeable. They don't try to just keep charging you for anything, if it isn't needed. They're trustworthy. You can tell that they care about the animals and their purpose is not just to make money. I think that is the most important thing for me.

I have been going to Eglinton Veterinary Clinic for many many years, along with my 4 cats as well. My cats always got & still get excellent care, from dental work to thyroid illness. Staff are friendly & caring. Vet staff are knowledgeable, compassionate & eager to help. They feel like family as they have gone through the ups & downs with me in kittydom.

As a new patient, dr. Watson made me feel like my puppy is in great hands. I felt that he really cares for our beloved pets, and your pup will not be just another number. Although his veterinary practice is not holistic, he listened attentively to my concerns and requests and did not dismiss them or tried to persuade me, this I appreciated immensely. Highly recommend Eglinton veterinary, your four-legged friend will be in good hands!

Have been taking my dogs to EgVet for more than 15 years. Have always found both Drs. Bateman and Watson to be excellent. What I especially like are the options and information they provide. They really do seem to have the animal’s best interests at heart and, for me, that’s what it’s all about. Also so appreciate their tech and support staff - all great. Keep up the great work! Great first time experience at this clinic! The staff is very friendly and professional. Pet owners still cannot accompany the pets during the exams due to covid, however Dr. Robert Watson took the time to come outside to discuss my kitten's health in person. His genuine passion and care for our pet's well-being is clear.

Normally I go to a different vet closer to my home, but wanted to have my puppy spayed with a laparoscopic surgery. After some researching, I found Eglinton Veterinarian. I don't usually write reviews but I have really found them top notch and have been wanting to leave a review. They are very professional and helpful. They have a solid procedure in place to make sure the puppy is examined and vetted before surgery and after. I spoke with different vets there and they were all very patient with all questions (which to them I'm sure are the same questions from worried puppy owners over and over

It is very difficult these days not being able to go into your vet with your pet and therefore I put off bringing in my cat, who has has a cyst over his eye for months. Since he had an unfortunate incident ( not the vet’s fault) at his old vet, he would be extremely nervous to go without me in attendance. I decided to bring him to this vet clinic because of their great reviews and because it was really close. My cat Charlie, had no issues and enjoyed his visit here. Dr. “Josh” personally came out to talk to me about Charlie ‘s cyst and what my options were. He also promised to further investigate

With a new pup in the family I was looking for a new vet. Everyone I used to bring my previous dogs for over 20 years has either retired or has become too outdated in terms of what is happening in the veterinary medicine these days. It was time for a change. The situation with vet care in the city has become critical: long wait times, clinics trying to sell you services you don't need. One clinic even insisted that a routine spray required an overnight stay, even though I had two dogs sprayed before and pretty much know it is a very routine surgery. We have taken all our dogs and cats to Eglinton Veterinary for the last 30 plus years. Dr. Watson is incredible, knowledgeable, practical and personable.
