Services
We are the retained engineers to over 30 companies throughout Atlantic Canada for both CSA W47.1 (Steel) and CSA W47.2 (Aluminum). In addition to retained engineering services for metal fabricators, we also provide welding and design work for the Mining, Energy, Pulp & Paper, Construction and Marine Industries.
Division 2, a welding engineer is retained as required by the standards. Skarborn Engineering Ltd performs this role by first reviewing the specific requirements with the client (processes and equipment used, type of manufacturing, etc) and then preparing documentation which includes welding procedure specifications, welding procedure data sheets, and guidelines for welder testing.
Aluminum and stainless steel arch or truss support systems have been designed for approximately 40 geomembrane cover installations across the United States, Canada, and Australia. Spans have ranged from 3.6 m (12 ft) to 12 m (40 ft), and supports have conformed to the Aluminum Specification, CAN/CSA S157, or the Australian Aluminum Structures Standard, depending on jurisdiction.
Skarborn Engineering Ltd has prepared a number of presentations on topics related to welding, and these have been given to a wide audience including welders, welding supervisors, engineers, technicians, detailers and managers. Companies participating in these sessions have included metal fabricating firms and detailing companies.
