Our staff has been amazing over the past 18 months working throughout under difficult and stressful circumstances. We will never be able to thank them enough for getting Sabai through its biggest challenge. A word of thanks too for our customers who have been so kind, patient, understanding and supportive during this awful time.

We will be back raring to go! See you all in November. Hi lovely people we have decided to hold off on opening for indoor dining for a while longer. We are lucky enough to have a great outdoor area and it feels like the best option at the moment. We will of course keep you updated. Best of luck to all the other great local restaurants that are opening indoors on Monday.

Sabai Restaurant is renowned for its authentic Thai and Vietnamese cuisine. Situated at Derrynane House, 19 The Mall in Waterford city, the restaurant is housed in a wonderful historic Georgian building. We offer a full bar and cocktail list as well as an evening takeaway service. For special occasions or corporate events, we can accommodate private dining for up to 50 people.

Sit-in Report

Spicy marinated steak salad with tomato, red onion, mint, coriander and zesty lemon and lime dressing. A Salad of barbequed pork and fresh mango with red onion and fresh herbs in a spicy dressing. Rice noodles served in a healthy beef bone broth with vegetables, slow cooked beef and pork wontons. Rice noodles served in a light and flavoursome broth with fresh herbs, beansprouts and chinese leaves.

Take Away Report

Minced white chicken with pork, vermicelli, carrot, cabbage and other vegetables wrapped in a thin rice pastry, deep fried until crisp and golden, and served with our homemade tangy, sweet and sour sauce. Minced chicken and pork gently marinated with herbs and Thai spices, combined on a delicate toast and deep fried.
