Services
LV Physiotherapy - Improving quality of life, facilitating active rehabilitation, and promoting pain-free functional mobility. LV Physiotherapy was founded by Physiotherapist Lisa Vandenberk. Strong motivators for opening her own practice include the increasing demands of an aging population and the need for more physiotherapy centers offering neurological rehabilitation.
Lisa Miele (ne Vandenberk) has many years of experience working in the health care system at Hotel Dieu Shaver Health and Rehabilitation Centre. She also gained experience working in private practice clinics and providing home care in the Niagara Region. Lisa graduated from McMaster University with an Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology degree and a Masters of Science in Physiotherapy degree.
LV Physiotherapy is now offering Telehealth/ Virtual Physiotherapy Appointments via videoconferencing when an in-person appointment is not possible or necessary. This allows you to get a thorough evaluation of your injury by a registered physiotherapist through a video chat in the comfort of your own home.
Orthopedic Manual Therapy is any hands-on treatment provided by your Physiotherapist. It can be used to treat both acute and chronic injuries. It is helpful in relaxing muscles, breaking up scar tissue, increasing joint range of motion and decreasing pain. Soft Tissue Release (STR) is a combination of myofascial release, therapeutic massage, and active assisted stretching.
Although your surgeon has successfully completed a surgical procedure, you are now responsible for doing exercises to optimise your results. You may have received some basic exercises in the hospital to get you started on early range of motion and strengthening or to minimize any complications like infections.
