Monarch Child Care Society (MCCS), located in the Victoria School of the Arts, is a high-quality, accredited out-of-school care (OSC). We offer care for children in Kindergarten through Grade Six. We are a not-for-profit centre that is governed by parent volunteers. Our philosophy is to build positive relationships with children, families and the community.
Our qualified staff creates a nurturing and enriched environment that fosters the development of the whole child. MCCS is open Monday to Friday from 7:15 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., offering childcare during school in-service days and school holidays. The Centre is closed on all statutory holidays.

In Alberta, all licensed and approved child care programs must meet a minimum set of provincial standards. The Alberta Child Care Accreditation program establishes standards that exceed those in the provincial standards.
Experiences are available to all children, such as arts, crafts, science, math and baking, as well as free play and a variety of centres such as dramatic play, blocks and small manipulatives. Children also have the opportunity to read, play games and do puzzles. Older children are encouraged to develop their leadership skills through helping with program planning, mentoring younger children and assisting with age-appropriate tasks in the centre.
During our 2014 Casino Fundraising event we were able to raise $80 904.30! Thank you very much for volunteering your time to help out Monarch Child Care Society.
Those who participated in 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2014 had a lot of fun, and we have reaped the benefits of the much-needed funding ($80,000) for our programs so that our children can have programming enriched with music and summer field trips and we can enjoy the benefits of lower-than average child care fees.As a not-for-profit, parent-run society, Monarch Child Care has many volunteer opportunities for interested parents.
