SEMA owns 3 operating companies. SEMA Railway Structures, headquartered in Toronto, Ontario, provides services focused on structures in Ontario and Western Canada. Groupe SEMA, headquartered in Sainte-Flavie, Quebec, provides services focused on structures in Quebec and the Maritime provinces. AFM, in Sainte-Flavie, Quebec has the necessary equipment to fabricate structural steel.

SEMA began operations in eastern Canada in 1996 in Quebec, New Brunswick, and eastern Ontario by providing bridge inspection and maintenance services to short line railway operators. Success in those areas allowed SEMA to grow and expand over time to include the various operating companies and to provide services from coast to coast in Canada.

SEMA has an experienced in-house team of railway professionals, including operations managers, professional engineers, technicians, and construction professionals.

Whether it be a hi-rail inspection truck (bridge inspection vehicle or "snooper"), hi-rail trucks, boom trucks, cranes, or excavators, we are well equipped to work on the rails.
