Services
Dr Donald R. Maxwell, a Clinical Psychologist, runs the Applied Psychology Clinic in Toronto Ontario. He is well-versed in neuroscience and neurophysiology. His treatment protocols are diverse and cover many modalities. Dr. Maxwell received his Ph. D. Doctorate degree from McMaster University. Since then he has gone on to take many specialized courses in brain mapping, neurofeedback and other specialized treatments.
Assessment of mental-health problems, brain injury, stress disorders, or learning disabilities is an important part of a mental-health professional's role. Psychologists conduct assessment using standardized testing procedures which helps answer questions about the causes, course, and effective interventions for clients' problems.
Simply call our office at (416) 222-0804. Our patient care professional will briefly determine your concern, describe the services that may be relevant, and arrange an initial consultation with Dr. Maxwell. If you have an extended health policy, the services of a psychologist may be covered. The following document answers some initial questions about those seeking the services of a psychologist.
The psychological treatment most familiar to people is psychotherapy, a form of "talk" therapy. Talk therapy uses verbal communication to give social support, to elicit insight into our problems and "think creatively" about solutions, and to help us gain knowledge, and to question and "re-frame" our understanding of our problems.
Neurofeedback is a biofeedback technique in which a person uses their electroencephalogram (EEG or brain waves) to control multimedia computer events as a means of training regulation of attention, emotion, and/or behaviour. Neurofeedback trains the central regulatory signal of the brain-the EEG or electroencephalogram, so the training has an impact on any psychophysiological function that the EEG signal controls or affects.

Dr. Maxwell is extremely knowledgeable and professional as well as very personable. Neurofeedback works, especially when he is doing it.

It is expensive but it works if you complete the program. It is exceptional in how well it works. But I can't dispute the cost. However, it's because you have a Board Certified Psychologist and he attends each patient and administers the program hands on - it is a very involved process that he has 40+ years experience in. If you can afford it, then do it.

Very expensive. Someone I knew, paid $8000 and all the promised success and results went in waste. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this place.
