AVOID Signmaster. I am an arts professional and university photography instructor, and I planned to print an 8’x12’ banner with a photographic image for an upcoming art exhibition in Alberta. After speaking with Mat Macgregor, I decided to print and pay $50 for a 2’x3’ sample. I was happy with the image and colour reproduction, and approved for them to move forward with the full-sized banner. Unfortunately when I picked up the large roll, I was only able to unroll 1 to 2 feet to check it out. The only allocated space for this is in their entranceway where there is no viewing surface but

Matt met with us and seems like a nice, knowledgeable guy but.... we've been trying since May to get a quote for a simple, lit sign on our business with no success. Emails sent with no reply; Spoke to him twice, got commitments to f/u and nothing. Now looking for another sign-maker. If our job was too small (about $2000) for him to bother, I would have appreciated him being up-front.

Poor quality signs installed for a client, one peeled off completely, one was installed with visible seams in the letters and fasteners that have nicks and scratches in the chrome finish. Was sent a proof where the logo was significantly altered, including the overall shape and colour, something simple I had to point this out to the team at Signmaster. There are plenty of great sign makers in Vancouver, wouldn't recommend this one.

I needed a large convention banner printed on a tight timeline, and Mat at Signmaster told me they could do it at an affordable cost. He printed my banner without showing me a proof first, and the banner came out in a heavy red hue rather than the clear, crisp image that I sent to them. I needed the banner immediately, so I paid the $120. I called back afterwards to ask why it was printed off-colour, and he blamed my file rather than his software or printer. Mat agreed to reprint it for me, but wouldn't call back after I left messages and didn't respond to my emails. I went there personally
