I had combo plate #8 with chicken guy ding, fried rice and sweet/sour spare ribs (see photo). It was ready in 20 minutes.
The spare ribs were not overly covered in batter, but almost every piece had a large piece of cartilage (see photo).
There was rice but I wouldn't say it was fried properly as it had many chunks of white rice throughout.
The guy ding was tasty but overcooked.
I read the other reviews and I agree with 3.5 stars.
And no...the restaurant DID NOT smell like sewage.

I ordered two wonton soups and chicken & shrimp pad Thai around 515 tonite. I've been throwing up ever since about 630??? 30.00 fir good that's made me I'll.. I will not be ordering from them again ever. My Neighbour just informed me She ordered from here a few months ago and got food poisoning.. omg!!!

Paid $100 for dinner for five received a dinner for 3. Most disgusting smell when walking into the “restaurant” very unsanitary environment. The food didn’t look appetizing at all.
The Mandarin has amazing Chinese food and you get a lot more for your money’s worth.
10/10 wouldn’t recommend A & K to anyone.

We have been in London 2years and still looking for good Chinese take out, this is not it.
We actually gave it 2 chances only because some of the dinner 1st time was good so thought we'd order different things the second time.
The 1st time we didn't mind the spring rolls but just not crisp enough. 2nd time very hot but turned my stomach because of the grease. We ordered the 2nd time from what they say are their specialty dishes. We hoped they would be better, not. I find very little meat all vegetables which is the same in chicken balls all batter as well as lemon chicken. I was pulling the batter

Nov 26/19 So ... I have been stuck at home the last three days with a cold. Toast and cereal were not doing it for me tonight. I wanted real FOOD !! I went online and checked out the Chinese food places in my area. I came up with A & K restaurant.

Went for takeout a few days ago, when we walked in we were hit with a stench. Smelt as if they had a sewage leak, I still ordered because there was nothing else opened. We got chicken fried rice and sweet n sour chicken balls. They added the sweet n sour sauce to the ball, which I wished they didn't, because by the time we took it home the ball were soggy. We also ordered spring rolls and egg rolls, the spring rolls where huge, I enjoyed them. Honey garlic ribs were also a part of our order, they looked very unappetizing, but they tasted good. I have been ordering from them for about 5 years, food is always good. My buzzer has never worked and they have no problem calling me to let me know the food is on its way. The gentleman that is always there is always friendly. I love their combos, and they are a good deal. Food is always hot and fresh upon arrival. Going into the restaurant is nice too, I've taken my little girl a few times for some special bonding time and had a great time. Customers are always nice and polite, very family friendly.
