Don Armitage, the founder of the Sicon Group, apprenticed as a sign painter in the late 1940's. In 1950, he established Rae Signs, which by 1956 was the largest sign-painting firm in British Columbia with 20 employees. During the 50's Rae Signs was primarily a sign painting company and its usual projects included painting signs, billboards, truck panels and the exterior surfaces of buildings.

Our firm has been a customer of Sicon for about 8 years. They are absolutely terrible at customer service. The manager Ted never returns calls even after 6-8 messages. At first we were able to get responses by reaching out to the office staff. We were lied to about a sales contract that had a 7 year auto renew clause hidden in the small print. When I spoke to spoke to a manager about it they said it was only in force while we were at the location. Now that we are moving its back to the same no response to messages. There are many sign company's in the lower mainland and I'm not sure how they run

I have been a loyal customer for over 15 years, we have a sign on a pylon at our previous location, we purchased a new building in 2012 and obviously couldn't take the pylon with us. Sicon Signs would not entertain ANY options for our sign and I've had to pay monthly for a sign that is at a different location for the last 4 years. I've had to pay out the contract so it would not auto renew. If I could give zero stars I would, total unethical operation.
