Rosemary Whitlock is a psychotherapist with a Masters in Counselling Psychology from McGill University, and over 25 years of experience in different cities and countries. Rosemary works with couples, individuals and adolescents in the Niagara Region, from her office located in St. Catharines, Ontario.
Both office and video sessions are available. I remember when my husband and I entered into counselling, and how daunting it was. We survived almost a year of therapy together, and it changed forever how we talked to each other and to our children. This was an important part of my career as a psychotherapist and has made me a much better partner.

I remember being asked this question in an undergrad course years ago and the answer seemed so simple to put into words. Years later when life and living is so complicated, it is more difficult. What defines me now is my long term relationship, that encompasses all that is important to me and brings challenges and new adventures.
I specialize in relationship/marriage counselling. No marriage is perfect, and almost every couple can benefit from some help. If you want to feel more connected and improve your relationship, come and see me and I will help you understand where the differences are, why they exist and how to close the gap.
I see young adults from the age of about 16+. The focus in on understanding what they are going through, what supports they need. We look at what supports they currently use that are positive, and guide them on their unique journey towards health and wellness. With the teens' permission a parent/guardian may attend a session for support or to add their perspective on the problems to be addressed.
If you're just getting started with therapy for the first time, you may have some questions. Sometimes you need to insist your partner comes to counselling, and if this doesn't work you can begin to do some things yourself. You can come in alone and I will help you with ideas about how to improve the relationship, and find better ways to approach communication with your partner.
To keep on top of my practice I engage in professional coaching twice a month to deeper develop my knowledge of Relational Life Therapy. This is a substantial investment that benefits the practice and clients and keeps me on top of what really matters most- giving clients the best approach that is available.
