Its former partners include Gerald J. Doucet (former MLA for Richmond County from 1963 - 1974) and the Honourable F.B. William Kelly (appointed to Family Court in 1984 and Supreme Court in 1985). The careers of the current partners, L.K. (Larry) Evans, Q.C., Harold A. MacIssac, Hugh MacIsaac and Wayne J. MacMillan total well in excess of 100 years.

L.K. (Larry) Evans, Q.C. retired from EMM Law Inc. in 2018 after practicing law here for 46 years. He was a partner in the firm for 40 Years and his practice was mainly in the fields of real property; corporate/commercial and municipal law. Larry provided legal services to the Town of Port Hawkesbury for 43 years.
Having practised law for over 37 years, Hugh brings a veteran's skill and extensive knowledge of the law to the firm of Evans MacIsaac MacMillan. Hugh was born and raised in Upper Southwest Mabou, Inverness County. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree (Summa Cum Laude) from St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish.
The call of Cape Breton has lured Patrick Lamey from his birthplace of Fredericton, New Brunswick. He is proud to call Cape Breton home and to have the privilege to provide a broad range of legal services in a community in which his family tree has deep roots.
After graduating with Honours from the University of New Brunswick Law School in 1992, Patrick crossed the Canso Causeway to complete his articles at Evans MacIsaac MacMillan (as it was called then).After being admitted to the Nova Scotia Bar in 1993, Patrick was quickly made an associate and in 2014 he became a co-owner/manager of EMM LAW Incorporated.
