Interstress Structural Ltd. originated as a partnership in the late 1970's and became a limited company in 1982. Based on previous experiences gained in the construction industry, the partners branched out into restoration repairs of foundations and concrete structures. Since specialized restoration companies were new to construction, Interstress became involved in repairs to damaged structures, waterproofing and leakage control.
These repairs included work in Alberta, British Columbia, the Yukon and North West Territories. In the 1980's, a segment of interstress became involved with the Alberta Research and National Research Council developing and researching products that were new to the construction repair industry in Canada.
