Maligned teeth may not only look bad but may give occlusion problems. Come into talk to us how braces may be a solution to more than just one oral health problem. Adults over 35 lose more teeth to gum diseases, (periodontal disease) than from cavities. Three out of four adults are affected at some time in their life.
At LDB Dental we follow the Manitoba Dental Association Fee Guide for all our dental services. All information will be provided about all fees and payment plans before treatment is scheduled. The first "regular" dental visit should be just before or after your child's third birthday. The first dental visit is usually short and involves very little treatment. We may ask you to sit in the dental chair and hold your child during the examination. We will gently examine your child's teeth and gums.
Silver fillings (amalgam) is a safe alternative to white fillings. They are usually used in the posterior of the mouth due to aesthetic concerns but provide a strong filling material. Patients have concerns about the "mercury content in the silver filling". Don't worrry, there is no evidence that amalgam fillings have a detrimental effect on health of a patient.
Complete or partial dentures are a viable alternative for missing teeth. As a patient you have to realize dentures will never fit or feel as good as your natural teeth, especially lower dentures which are prone to retention problems. Dentures are made of a hard acrylic that is moulded to form to your existing tissues.
