When I was their management had just changed and their was no breakfast sauna or whirlpool. Also the price was different from what it said online. On the flip side, it is pretty central and easy to find if it is a place you want to stay at if you are just planning to pass through the town. Also my rating is based on my experience, I do believe that some of the things that weren't their during the summer would be their now, that the new manager has had time to fix things or set things up. Also I would like to add that they do have a nice rustic lobby area complete with board games and a map.

Friendly staff, hotel is in renovation right now. The layout and classic feel is awesome. Lots of work to do but a great experience. Motorcycle parking and bike wipes are a nice touch. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Hot tub was down so 4 stars today.

An economical hotel in the city with many amenities close by, yes it's dated but the beds were clean and the AC was on in our room when we got there which was awesome being as it was 34°C outside after a long day riding a shower some good food and cool room was all we needed.

This place is right out of the 60’s or 70’s, loved it! The Inn is right on the Main Street, with a bar and a 7 Eleven within a 5 minute walk. Place is very well maintained, with clean rooms, AC, a community hot tub and decent parking. The gentleman who answered the phone just held the room for us on our word we would be there, no credit card required. An affordable nights sleep! We will be back.

Imagine if you will, that you are transported back to the 1970's and the your room is brown and orange, complete with a velvet orange chair? The light fixture in the bathroom - you guessed it, is from then, and has an orange flower on it. The bathroom tap runs continuously and makes the room smell like mildew. I think the taps are from the 1960's because they screetch if you turn them. There was a refrigerator, un-plugged and the bed was bouncy, just like back then. I went to go to bed and there were hairs and things in the sheets!!!!!!! The pillows were not clean, there was old make

Just what we needed!
Booked in at the last minute and enjoyed a warm, comfortable room. Unlike so many hotels/motels, the Downtowner also has a central sitting room complete with bookshelves as well as microwaves and other amenities.
The Downtowner is right on the main street, so popping out for food, drinks, gifts etc is easy and enjoyable.
Really accommodating, look forward to staying here again :-)

The front desk guy was rude with us, room dirty, sauna was broke for more than 6 months. Seriously, I don't know why there's good comments for this hotel.
It's the worst hotel we've been in years.

The motel is super old and smells like and old legion building if you know what I mean.
The owner was... friendly but sarcastic at the same time... and the smell of alcohol emanating from his breath was overwhelming.
The room was clean but the carpet was dirty. The bathroom was ok but the pipes of the sink were leaking leaving a puddle on the floor every time you used the sink.
The TV is still an old model from 1966 I think and is super small.
Would I go back to this place? No, I'll pay the extra buck next time and get something more modern and cleaner.

The building is very original, but was a nice place back in its prime. We found it clean and tidy. Perfect location, surrounded by restaurants and the grocery store is a block away. Great for families because it has a large central seating area for the kids to go. I found the hot tub to be clean. The temp is more of a warm bath, which I prefer personally. Don't expect 102oF. The sauna was broke because some A-holes poured water on the element. We had a east facing room and weren't bothered by the traffic, a south facing room may be different. Has an ice machine and the bathrooms have a heating

Okay place to stay. The staff is very nice and the price was good, it’s obvious that the place is like 100 years outdated though. The beds weren’t very comfortable, it felt like sleeping in the ground. The sauna was out of order and seemed like it’s been like that for awhile. The hot tub had a bit of a green tint to the water, then you then the jets on and it gets more greenish cause of a crack in the seat. If you need a cheap place to stay, this is a good choice but don’t expect high quality amenities.

We loved this place. It is basic, old-fashioned maybe. Does not have or pretend to have frills. But the rooms are well-thought out, clean, comfy. Real bathtubs! Plenty of space for suitcases and computers. Accessible outlets. A huge common room with family-type charm for insomniacs to read, make coffee or tea, play cards at the game table. I would take this over a hotel chain (with their far-too-many mountainous pillows) any day.
Also, great takeout nearby, and an old-fashioned movie theatre on the corner. Location is excellent.
