In 1962, Stanley Tkachuk and Otto Aback saw the need for concrete services in the heart of oilfield country and, using their second initials, formed A&T Construction Ltd. At the time, the price of gas at the pumps was 31 cents and a loaf of bread could be purchased for under a quarter. They started working at their downtown Lac La Biche location in 1965.
In the early 1970s, Stanley saw the potential in Conklin and established a remote concrete operation there. Ascrazyas highway 881 is today, just imagine this: in the early '70s, everything had to hauled to Conklin by train in the summer and on ice roads in the winter. A&Ttraveledthose roads often and became very successful working for many of the larger oilfieldcompanies of the era, including Dome Oil, Home Oil and AAMACO.

Services
A & T Construction Ltd. is a third-generation family-run local concrete company that has operated in the Lac La Biche area since 1962. Our specialty is concrete ready mix, and our well-trained drivers and on-site staff are experts in the field. We operate two stationary concrete plants, one just outside of Lac La Biche and the other in the heart of oilfield country in Conklin.
It can be cast into different shapes, is durable, is the most sought after construction material in terms of compression strength (construction material with highest strength per unit cost), and its increasing use is fundamental for sustainable construction in any application foundations - floors, walls, highways and bridges are all made of concrete.
It's no secret that good lines of communication with on-site personnel and our general contractor or their testing company is essential. When we're kept in the loop with slump tests, air tests and concrete cylinder strength results, we can consistently deliver your concrete in the proper specifications for your project needs.

*** UPDATING REVIEW - INCOMPLETE WORK ***
Found out a couple of weeks ago that the business never completed the permit process for our deck. The city of Ashland has been calling me as A&T is not returning their contacts to finish the process. I've been told I'll have to pay the city double the permit costs and could also have to pay fines. I've… let Adam know this and have been told multiple times that it's being taken care of, but there has been no status change and the permit is still not complete. Repeated attempts at communication the last 2 days have gone unanswered.

10 out of 5 stars !!!! Have worked with Brian, his family and employees on countless occasions. They produce the greatest product in all of Alberta. There is not too many buildings in which your reading this, that doesn't have A&T concrete. A Company built with blood, sweat and tears that continues to support several communities through out northeastern Alberta. Whether a new or long lasting client, Brian and his team willingly go that extra mile every time. A true "from the ground up" business that has became a industry leader.
Thanks,
Adam
