Dr. Dustin Kirshen was raised in Thornhill, Ontario. He graduated from the University of Western Ontario with an Honours Degree in Neuropsychology HBSc.
Upon completion of his degree, he pursued his passion and ambition for dentistry and was accepted to The University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry, graduating in 2012 with the Hubert Renzy silver medal in Clinical Periodontology. Dr. Dustin Kirshen is a proud serving member of the Alpha Omega fraternity, Canadian Dental Association, Ontario Dental Association and the York Region Dental Society.

White or tooth-coloured fillings made of aesthetic composite resin can be bonded to your teeth for a stronger, more natural-looking result. Composite fillings are virtually undetectable and require only a single appointment to apply. There are four main types of filling materials used on an ongoing basis.
Each of our teeth contains a long, thin strand of dental pulp that contains the nerves and blood supply that extends into the root canal system. The blood vessels provide nutrients to the tooth and the nerve provides sensation. When the nerve is intact the tooth is vital and healthy. Bacteria can penetrate into the pulp space through dental decay or tooth fracture.
Teeth can require crowns for a variety of reasons: fracture, decay, weak large fillings, aesthetics and root canal treatment. The tooth is prepared to create an ideal space for a new crown. An impression is taken and sent to the dental laboratory. When cemented into place the crown fully covers that portion of a tooth which lies at and above the gum line.
Many suffer from Tempromandibular Joint pain or Tempromandibular Dysfunction. 1. Pain on opening. 3. Neck and shoulder pain. 4. Ear pain, hearing loss. 5. Ringing in the ears. Treatment of these problems can be complicated. The cause can often be multifactorial. Meaningful treatment begins with proper diagnosis.

My husband and I have been patients of Kirshen dental perhaps near 10 yrs now. Dr Kirshen Sr and Dustin Kirshen are phenomenal dentists. They have state of the art technology and we have both had various procedures done over the years, from crowns to dental implants, invisalign to sleep apnea aids. They are both perfectionists and take the time to… explain any procedure in detail. Their level of care is superior. The hygienists there are super too, friendly and knowledgeable, as are all the staff. We moved away from Richmond Hill to a location an hour away and could have found a dentist

My very first visit to a dentist was when I was in my late twenties. Needless to say I was not comfortable. And I was very nervous! Dr. Ira Kirshen fixed that and I've now been going to Kirshen Dental for close to 30 years. The staff are tremendous and I always feel welcomed and comfortable. Dr. Ira has done some amazing work on my mouth over the… years and and I'm sure I could not have gotten better care from any other dentist. I would highly recommend Dr. Ira and now Dr. D as well, as the best dental practice in the north GTA. And a special shout out to Helen. A fantastic dental hygienist

A team of professionals whom take care of each patients like their own family and they are willing to help with every dental issues until you recover the ability to happily smile again....
