The "presumption" of the Matrimonial Property Act is that everything is to be divided equally. Section 7 of the Matrimonial Property Act provides that certain property may be exempt from the matrimonial property regime. If you are claiming an exemption, the onus rests on you to prove that you are entitled to an exemption.
Biological children, adopted children and children looked after by the spouses may all be considered children of the marriage. The custody and support provisions of the law apply to a child of the marriage who is under 18 years of age. The support provisions apply to a child who is over 18 and remains dependent on his or her parents because of illness, disability or other reasons.

I hired Erika Hagen as my lawyer to help me navigate a very important custody situation. there were red flags early on when I received my statements of account, going through them and comparing what I was charged for. It became evident that i had been charged for mass emails that had nothing to do with my case, such as emails for new covid office rules, Erika handing me off to another lawyer due to being pregnant and emails that Icould simply not even find existing in my inbox. As the new year approached I thought back to the last few years and all of the stress I experienced with my divorce and the battle I went through. Ms. Jordan Crerar represents my Ex in my file for child support. We are going through divorce and he stopped paying child support since 2019. Originally, he was willing to legalize our previously signed agreement, yet Ms. CRERAR successfully convinced him Not to close the deal and Not to pay the child support. A supposed-to-be simple divorce… agreement, with her effort, has become an INTERNATIONAL complex case involving 2 different jurisdictional systems.
