Fred Gray was the founder of the engineering firm in 1973. Fred worked hard to provide efficient designs that would work best for the project and reduce construction cost. He did not gauge his time on the fee but on the project itself. Bill joined the firm in 1985, and became a partner in the firm in 1991.

At Gray & Fick we provide value added optimized structural engineering solutions that are tailored to what is important to our clients. We have the expertise and innovations of a large firm but with the responsiveness and personalized care of a small firm.
Gray & Fick boasts years of experience working in Canada's Arctic. Our dedicated professionals understand northern construction practices and the challenges of working on permafrost and in the arctic climate. Our staff have been involved in projects on a wide range of building classifications including industrial, institutional, commercial, residential, and educational.
From small house additions to multistory building, Gray and Fick have worked diligently with clients to ensure a cost effective project is completed. We have partnered with small building designers to provide BCIN reviews for Part Nine buildings. On our larger projects, we work with the developer to determine the best structural system that satisfies fiscal and performance requirements.
Gray and Fick understand the need to provide a distinctive public building that will make the neighbourhood proud. We temper this with the need for fiscal responsibility. Our firm has completed numerous heritage restoration projects and we have a full grasp of the structures that were typically used in these types of projects.
