Services
When a death occurs in a hospital or other care facility or is an expected death at home, call the funeral home and we will transfer your loved one into our care. If the death was unexpected, call 911. The RCMP will come and call the right people to transport the body. When you are ready, call the funeral home and we will make arrangements to bring your loved one into our care.
There are many great reasons to plan ahead for a funeral. We plan ahead for special events in life, to make sure they fit our personalities, wants and needs - think of weddings, vacations, retirements. Why not plan your funeral in advance? You can rest easy, knowing its personalized, planned and funded.
Burial services often involve a visitation, followed by a funeral service in our offices or a place of your choosing, perhaps a place of worship or local hall. The casket is usually present at both these events and can either be open or closed. We have a comprehensive selection of wood caskets, metal caskets, semi-precious metal caskets, cloth covered caskets, cremation caskets and rental caskets to honour your loved one.
For most of us, there will never be a day quite like the one following the funeral of a loved one. Energy spent in preparing for the funeral gives way to profound weariness. With fewer distractions, the reality of loss seeps into places we may not have even known existed. It's hard to imagine how anyone could think clearly or even care about the many things that need to be taken care of following a loved one's funeral.
Oliver's Funeral Home is proud to be an official representative of Peace Country Memorials based out of Rycroft, Alberta. Since 1958, Peace Country Memorials has carved fine granite monuments for the families of the Peace Country. They put heart and a caring touch into every memorial stone they carve.

I mostly recommend the speed and efficiency with which they deal with their clients. Tracy arranged the initial appointment right away. Having Tina process the necessary closing of personal accounts for my father is a fairly new service at Oliver’s and is brilliant. Finally Hannah working quickly on his obit to meet The Signal deadline was greatly appreciated. They all made a difficult time much much easier.

Amazing staff, Chris is so nice, Hannah at the desk is wonderful, Steve is kind, professional and very compassionate and listened and made helpful suggestions to make this ordeal less stressful. Alia did a beautiful job on Mom's cards. Love them. Tina is so kind and helpful. Its beyond measure, how fantastic this team is. I cannot even begin to explain how fond of Oliver's my family and I are. When my grandmother passed at 100 in 2017 after my mother had exclusively cared for her for 2 years, Chris at Oliver's was able to comfort my mom when the rest of us couldn't find the right words. She mentioned his kindness again and again.
So there was no question of which funeral home we would choose when my mother passed from cancer this year.
Every person we met on staff was exceptional, but we have to recognize Chris and Tina (in aftercare) for going above and beyond.
This work is evidently more than just business

I cannot stress enough how awful Oliver's service is. I do NOT recommend going here for arrangement's for your loved one's. I have dealt with rude employees, horrible management of fellow loved ones and just plain laziness and further stress when dealing with funeral arrangements. I could go on and on about the awful service from here.
Please go to another funeral establishment as I do not recommend Oliver's in Grande prairie.

Losing my husband unexpectedly last week has been almost unbearable. Each staff person at Oliver's were so caring and concerned for any detail. Genuine sympathy and concern was expressed by each person we met… and worked with at Oliver's. Thank you to Tina for helping me with the paperwork. Thank you Alex for all the time you gave us and suggestions on how to proceed. We had no idea how to get through the funeral arrangements or what exactly had to be done. Thank you Jenn for coming in on a Saturday so we could see Shane one last time and our family got a chance to say goodbye in private

Oliver's staff made an unbearable loss into a peaceful transition. Every staff member we dealt with and even the ones not involved in our care we're kind and compassionate. Jenn and the team at Oliver's are very conscientious about the wishes of the families they assist in their time of need. Always willing to provide a thoughtful listening ear, paying close attention to the needs of the family and ensuring that no details are left to chance. Although the services of a funeral home are often not what we choose to think about - when having to choose a group of people to be at your side during your need - Choose Oliver's!

I called them shortly after my grandfather passed away to see if they could do a pillow in memory of him and I waited months and no call back so I went with bear Creek they were very nice and called me back the same day would have given a better review if they would have just called to let me know instead of making me wait. ..
