Sometimes for pets going to the vet is much like humans going to their medical doctor or dentist. Schedule an appointment. This lets the doctor know you are coming, so they will have time dedicated for your pet for you. Make sure that you have provided as much information about the reason for booking an appointment when you call the clinic.
The Okanagan Humane Society is a registered charity that is committed to helping the pet population through education and by assisting low income families with the cost of spaying and neutering their pet. The Shuswap Veterinary Clinic is pleased to assist the Okanagan Humane Society with its important mission.

Shuswap vet has been great to deal with from normal visits like shots all the way to the worst kind of vet visit, having to put your animal down. Today in particular I woke up to my cats eye not doing well and when I phoned the receptionist said - we are booked but let me fit you in here somewhere cuz the weekend is coming up and we don’t want it to possibly get worse over the weekend. So they fit us in because they genuinely care about the well-being of the animal. I would also like to say I super appreciate that they still allow us to come in with our animals as long as we are masked up (most

After recently moving to the Shushwap from the Okanagan and having lived all over the Okanagan and having dealt with at least a handful of vets throughout my time spent there I can say that this vet is the best vet I have ever dealt with! They were extremely kind, knowledgeable and also kept my pocket book in mind. The remedy to my dogs issue was as simple as switching his food back to his normal food from a prescription weight loss food so it is going to be much cheaper now and they even provided me with free nutrition advice with the food my dog eats in order to guide us in his weight loss journey

All of the staff/ vets have been lovely/kind/ and supportive to us over the years. Caroline Horsley is hands down the best most caring vet I have ever dealt with. She makes sure you understand what she is saying without making you feel like it was dumbed down. You can how much she genuinely cares about the animals she deals with and the passion she has for her job. I highly recommend Shuswap Vet for your furry family members needs.

My little dog had a puncture on her face as a result of a fight over some food. They got her in and treated her in a timely manner. Clipped and cleaned the bite area, with minimal stress to her. Sent home on antibiotics and anti-inflammatory meds.
DR. Caroline Horsley was extremely good with Minnie as was Melinda, the vet assistant.

The experience has been positive each visit. The care they show is genuine. Covid has of course changed the way we bring our vulnerable pets to see the vet. My pet was carried away into the vets and she didn't look back. Hmm.
I'm thinking this is perhaps a more gentler way of taking them to see the vet's. Less stress for them. Or us....they are a kind group of people who obviously love animals and their job. Thank you for taking good care of 'Toots'.

My dog Asher recently had his first of 2 TPLO surgeries he requires this year at SVC. The staff were more than pleasant to work with, extremely knowledgeable and more than willing to fully explain any concerns you may have. I have used this clinic a few times over the years with different pets, and I cannot say enough good things about them. Looking forward to the follow up appointments and the next surgery.
