Services
The McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home was founded in 1946 by Donald F. McKenzie and Paul D. Blundy. Mr. McKenzie graduated from the Canadian School of Embalming, Banting Institute, University of Toronto in 1937 and came to Sarnia in 1938 to manage the Phillips Funeral Home where he hired a recent high school graduate Paul Blundy.
Once a stately residential home, built in 1880, McKenzie & Blundy has worked to maintain many of the historical features of the building while still offering the amenities of a modern facility. With modular walls in our visitation rooms and chapel we are able to accommodate small, intimate gatherings, large spacious celebrations and everything in-between.
Good afternoon, I was recently in your funeral home attending the service for Mr. Clayton Mootrey. I just wanted to take a moment to reach out and commend your team. The staff that were there on Wednesday were very welcoming and helpful. Your facility is lovely and bright which you often don't find in a funeral home.
The memorial forest at Wawanosh Wetlands Conservation area was McKenzie & Blundy's first memorial forest. We began planting trees there in 1988. This is also the home to our annual Dedication service, held the 3rd Sunday of September. The memorial forest at Perch Creek Conservation Area is McKenzie & Blundy's second memorial forest.
