At Waggin' Wheelz Veterinary Services we believe in the importance of annual wellness visits. Our pets age much faster than we do so a lot can change in a year! By taking steps to prevent illness and disease, using quality diet and nutrition as well as providing a prompt diagnosis when required, we can help our pets live their longest and healthiest lives!
Providing Saskatchewan residents with timely information about ticks and the risk of Lyme disease and other tick-borne infections. This program is run by the U of S and the Western College of Veterinary Medicine. The WRSOS can advise how to handle a range of situations and to help prevent or solve human-wildlife conflict issues.
Dr. Kaylee and her team created a program to reduce the feral cat population in their area of rural Saskatchewan in 2018. In both the Spring & Fall, one full day at the clinic is dedicated to the F.A.R.M. Cat program. Since May of 2018, their efforts have resulted in the sterilization of over 80 cats (54 neuters and 30 spay surgeries).
There have been complaints of feral and stray cats within our communities. Waggin' Wheelz Veterinary Services and the Town of Wadena have partnered together to help combat these issues. Live-trapping and euthanizing them has not proven to be an effective way to manage these unhealthy populations.

Studies have shown that by trapping and spaying or neutering cats then releasing them with some obvious form of identification (such as ear notching) helps to stabilize the population, decrease disease and single out problematic cats.
