Having grown up on an organic farm in rural Saskatchewan, the healthy living choices of her parents helped to inspire Dr. Pala Gillis to become a Doctor of Chiropractic. Dr. Gillis graduated in 1995 from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College after first completing two years at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon.
Chiropractors are experts when it comes to the interaction between the muscular, skeletal and nervous systems. An adjustment is the use of a specific force either with the doctor's hands or a specially designed instrument in a precise direction that helps to normalize the spinal function. Chiropractic treatments are tailored to the individual needs of the patient based on age, size and distinct spinal problem.
The question to ask yourself is: at 80-years-old would you rather be dancing on a cruise ship or sitting in a nursing home? While chiropractic treatments for older patients (those that are 65 plus) are not drastically different from treating any other person, regular care can help to improve overall health and have a long-term affect on everyday life.
We are all faced with stressors in our life, regardless of our age and the stage of our lives. There are usually three different types of stressors that people identify with - physical, chemical and emotional.
Physical stress can result from an injury or a fall; chemical stress comes from the food and beverages that we consume or the pollution in the air; and emotional stress is due to events or situations in one's life such as starting a new job, changing schools, moving or challenges in a relationship.Tension can build up with greater stress levels, which often leads to joint restrictions in the spine.

Chiropractic care for infants can be helpful following the birthing process. For children, care can be beneficial due to falls from learning to walk, or injuries during regular play or sports. Chiropractic care ensures that the spine and nervous system are functioning optimally. This may have a positive effect on colic, digestive function, gas pains and general well being.

If you're looking for a new chiropractor, or your first ever, this is the best in town. Dr. Mullen is great because she understands that every body is different and helps you learn what works best for yours. I went to Physio for a year to fix the pain in my back, Dr. Mullen fixed in it 20 minutes and taught me what exercises to avoid and which ones will help prevent it from coming back!
