Cornwallis Veterinarians
Your local veterinarian in the Annapolis Valley. We're proud to provide a wide variety of veterinary medical services for small and large animals in the Annapolis Valley & surrounding areas! 1952 - 1955, Dr. Duncan Smith and Dr. Emerson North used the basement of Dr. North's house on Belcher Street, Kentville, NS, as their office location.

Being veterinarians in this agricultural region, they practiced veterinary medicine mostly from their vehicles as they traveled from farm to farm. Dr. Smith, Dr North and their newest veterinarian, Dr Wes Trenholm, formed a partnership and called it Cornwallis Veterinarians Ltd. It was unique at the time to see three veterinarians enter into a practice together as most veterinarians practiced individually.
Services
At Cornwallis Veterinarians, we never turn away a new client or patient. Booking an appointment with us is as easy as calling and speaking to one of our staff members. We are a full service hospital that is equipped with a lab, ultrasound, digital radiographs, and surgery facilities.

We provide veterinary services to companion animals, horses and food production animals with a veterinary team of seven large animal veterinarians and nine companion animal veterinarians.New or old, we look forward to seeing you and your pets. We hope that you choose to trust us with your animals' veterinary needs.
Once you have checked in, we will ask you to bring your dog to the scale to get a recent weight. Cats and small dogs will be weighed in the exam rooms. We have a large lobby where clients can sit and wait for their appointments. There is a lot of room to separate anxious pets from exuberant ones. On occasion, you may notice a goat or sheep or another small farm animal in for a vet visit!
Our in-house laboratory at Cornwallis Veterinarians provides a wide range of laboratory services. For our companion animal patients (dogs and cats), we have blood analyzers that process samples for many. Dental hygiene is very important to your pet's overall health. By the age of two, 80% of dogs and 70% of cats have some form of periodontal disease; 10% of.
On-site Radiology at our Kentville hospital is one of our most valuable diagnostic tools. X-rays are often taken to examine cruciate ligament injuries, count fetuses in pregnancies, check for foreign. Ultrasound is a diagnostic tool that uses the reflection of sound waves to provide an image of the internal organs of the body.
Spaying your pet has many benefits. The procedure, which prevents female animals from becoming pregnant and reproducing, can help your dog or cat live a longer, healthier life. Absolutely amazing I live on Cape Breton island, sadly the only vet that deals with exotics on the island has left. This left me trying to figure out what to do. I call here and the vet personally talked to me and helped me over the phone. She did eveything she could do over the phone and told me I could call her any time. She not only relieved me of my stress but also gave me tools and information to help my beardie. I highly recommend them for anyone with a beardie not only perfessional but empathic and understanding.

Very kind and considerate staff, which was so appreciated when you're dealing with a beloved pet that has come to the end of his life and the final kindness for your pet is to put him to rest. The staff were amazing and very helpful
