The room was physically fine, and new. However:
1.There was minimal to no housekeeping. Beds were not made, bathrooms not cleaned. Today, it was very apparent that no one was in our room, as the dirty coffee cups and glasses were still there, beds not made and coffee supplies not replenished.
2. There are no bedside lights. We ended up using a desk lamp as a bedside lamp. There is a lovely balcony with an "oceanview" but if you close the door to the balcony and don't have your room key, you are locked onto the balcony. No way to unlock the door from the inside. There is no elevator to the second

A 4 score based on Newfoundland expectations. Fine dining in their restaurant. Make a dinner reservation a week before.

Service was awesome. Room was really nice with a wonderful view. Food was to die for. Wicked seafood linguine, lobster stuffed mushrooms & bruschetta! Couldn’t of asked for anything better

It was a lovely hotel with lovely staff. Dorothy went above and beyond for us on our first day. The restaurant was one of the best meals we have had anywhere. To the owners… i know there is an insurance protocol but the lights over the balconies are so bright. It would be so much better to see the stars and enjoy our evening if the lights were off. Or maybe change the lights Aside from that. No complaints. We will return

Absolutely horrible. I get it that its a old hotel in a small town, but if you want people to pay 600$ for 3 nights, you can at least give them a free breakfast. The service was mediocre, the fact that they say its live entertainment every night is useless because out of the 3 nights we stayed, we couldn't go to the bar once. Every night was a sold out show with no priority for hotel guests, couldn't even buy tickets at the hotel !! The room had a very funky smell and the patio door would lock its self if you let it close behind you. I literally had to jam the lock open so I didn't get locked out

The restaurant is great, good food with awesome harbour view. Specially like the seafood chowder, homemade bread, and the pan fried cod. The location of the hotel is unbeatable, however the quality of the internet should be improved a little bit.

My husband and I ate here a couple of weeks ago. The service was great, all older ladies who were friendly and helpful ( I saw one help a man who was unfamiliar with how to get at the lobster meat). When we arrived they warned us that it might take a while to get our food but that was not the case as we found the service smooth and efficient. The food was good (lobster capped mushrooms and panfried cod) and we enjoyed the sunset over the harbour while finishing our wine. The only con is the room and lighting which are a bit stark. Focus on the sunset instead ;-).

Spent three nights at the Ocean View Hotel. Accommodation in the king room, ocean view was lovely. The room was newly renovated and we really enjoyed our stay. We booked using booking.com and changed the date of our stay to add an extra day a month before our arrival; however, there was an issue with the website and the communication with the hotel and they hadn’t received the amended booking information. Luckily we were still able to stay the third night.
We had lunch one day at the pub, their fish and chip special. The fish was beer battered cod and was quite good!
We ate dinner one night

Very nice hotel in Gros Morne National park. Clean, good bed and central. It has a bar and restaurant on site. Had their breakfast with a fish cake and it was very good. So if you are looking for a nice place to stay with no frills this is a great place
