Services
Dr. Jen Sletmoen graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008 and joined our team in 2014. She has a special interest in preventive medicine and chronic disease management, with focus on quality of life for pets and their families. She is always learning new treatments and techniques to provide current recommendations and effective care for her patients.
Veterinary Technologists play a vital role in the veterinary industry. They work under the supervision of veterinary practitioners to support the veterinarian in all aspects of practice. There is a 2 year program at Red River College and our Veterinary Technologist have to follow guidelines to register every year to legally perform their duties.
When we first saw her she was emaciated, cold and could not even stand due to malnutrition. At this point she was one of the thinnest dogs we had ever seen. In addition, on initial exam we found dental disease, areas of severe frostbite, arthritis and a mass on one upper eyelid. Her laboratory results indicated diabetes, hypothyroidism and a positive lyme test.
Chevy joined our team in 2003 at the age of 6 months. She was brought in by an animal control officer who could not find an owner. She was to be euthanized that day. Dr. Lindenschmidt was charmed by her friendly, playful ways and he decided to try and find her a home. While trying to find a home, the whole staff fell in love with her friendly but quirky ways.
The Winnipeg Humane Society is offering free veterinary consultations to new pet owners. The Welcome Home Program aims to connect all Humane Society adopted pets with a local veterinarian at the time of adoption. Upon adoption, the Humane Society will provide a list of clinics which will offer a free consultation, which is available for the first four weeks of adoption.

Not taking on new clients because of Covid makes very little sense considering most vets aren’t allowing “humans” inside anyway. Reception certainly didn’t have to be rude about it. Found plenty of other places that are not misconstruing current restrictions. Life still has to go on while Covid is here and learning how to adapt will only benefit your clinic and your clients.

We took my dogs in for what we believed was a teeth consultation but ended up being charged for a bunch of extra charges that we were not informed of. My mom talked to the secretary about this and expressed her concerns about not being informed about all these extra charges even thought she was told prior a specific price. The secretary was extremely rude and condescending, and my mom felt it was unfair the way she was talking to her. At no point did my mom act out of line or raise her voice or swear, she just expressed her frustrating. One week later we get a letter saying they will no longer

Believe it or not thought I was booking at the other vet in Selkirk, where I had gone numerous time. Even showed up there for my apt, rushed in a panic to make this apt in time. Let me just say....Thank Goodness! I have had 2 Min. Pins for 23yrs,. 1 diabetic, 1 with UTI every other year, so I have been around the block with Vets. I was very surprised to find out there are no regulated fees and you have to find a vet who you can not only trust 100%, but that you know are on the same level of understanding as you regarding what your expectations are. For example my Girl who has had over 10 UTIs,

With the covid still affecting everyone my visit with my cat to the vet today was exemplary. Assistant came to my car and took him in. Then the doctor came to talk to me about his examination and what needed to be done. Tooth extraction..the assistant brought my cat to my car and we took care of payment. Thats why i give them 5 stars!!

Wonderful, friendly, caring staff here that have always taken great care of our pets! They've always put them first making them feel comfortable and at ease. They've been very accommodating and efficient even in last minute emergency situations! We recommend to all of our friends with pets to take them here, thanks to the staff for all the great service and friendliness each time we come in!
