As many locals know, 1261 Main Street used to be home to The Bulkley Hotel when the town of Smithers was originally built. The property was constructed in 1913 and became the first licensed establishment in 1925. The Bulkley operated as a hotel & restaurant until 1993, when a fire destroyed the building.

Was hoping for some authentic German food, but was disappointed. The Wiener Schnitzel, which by the way shouldn't be called Wiener unless it's made with veal, was made from frozen pre-coated package as were the vegetables. Frozen veggies without adding any salt or butter while heating up are bland and soggy. The Spaetzle were slightly burnt and tasted soggy or reheated. Only reason it gets 2 stars is the selection of draught beer and the friendly atmosphere.

The 4 of us Went in for a family dinner on a Friday night. It wasn't to busy, we ordered 3 appys. It took 45 minutes for us to get our appys and another 45 to get our food. I ordered the beef dip and when I got it you could tell it had been sitting under the heat lamp for awhile. My bun was soggy and cold and my fries were also soggy. The waitress was very pleasant and tried to do what she could to make our visit pleasant. But I wasn't please with the wait or the food quality. I will not be back as it was my second bad experience.

Amazing service. Delicious food, huge portions for cheap! Also love doing half sides. Half salad half fries with the California chicken club for only $15! Amazing! We love coming here and will continues to come! :)

Had a great Tuna crauted in Sesame as well a a great steak with mushroom and gravy. Worth the money as the taste buds felt alive with excitement.

Please go to Applehorn for a great steak in the Alpine feel of Smithers.

This was a restaurant that we had found while walking around through Smithers at dinner time. The restaurant was nice and big and can accommodate large reservations or parties, and has really neat decor. Our waitress was very friendly, and checked in with us regularly. The food was delicious and there was lots of options to choose from on the menu. A very good experience overall.

As always, we found this place on Yelp! My SO was looking forward to eating fresh seafood. We walked in and were told to seat ourselves. They have a nice outdoor seating area and it was a beautiful July day!

I ordered the French onion soup and the sriracha chicken sandwich and my SO got the salmon burger. The onion soup was amazing! So tasty. The sriracha chicken sandwich didn't have much sriracha taste to it. My SO said the salmon burger was good but not great.

The ambiance of this place was great. Service and food were good.

After a long bus ride from Prince George, we finally arrived in Smithers, BC. The menu is quite extensive; a lot of choices that I'm sure everyone can find something they want. I settled for the braised beef sandwich (which happens to be gluten-free) with au jus for dipping in. The beef was super tender and I loved the caramelized onions and mushroom. All sandwiches come with fries or salad and I had to choose the Moosetrax waffle fries. A little spicy, but I don't regret it. I'd have to say the portion big but I'm not complaining! The tuna salad also looked amazingly seared

We were pleasantly surprised by the good quality of food. Very generous portions, even the kids portions were large. The weinerschnitzel was good as was the manicotti. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars was because of the slow service. It took forever to get our drinks and to get refills on our drinks. Dinner was also slow in coming, at least the food was good. So if you don't mind the slow service, I recommend it.

Love the atmosphere and layout of this place. The seating for some reason is one to note. I just liked it and the way it's arranged.

The menu is interesting enough. I like the flair of trying to be a bit different in the same old pub fare. However, if it's not done right, then what's the point of trying to be different? Nothing wowed us here. Mushroom caps. Just okay. Gyozas were alright but my friend did not like them. The burger was just okay for me as well, even though that was supposed to be a highlight here. I had ordered raw mushrooms in my Caesar salad but it came with a

I love the food it's amazing but the service is always hit or miss I love alphorn but tonight was the worst service I have ever had .. Was a good 20 minute wait for the waitress to take our order but she didn't .. She was attending everyone one our area but us .. She even went back to tables multiple time she drop our drinks off and said she would be right back to take our order but wasn't just kept attending to other customers , I usually am not bothered by waiting because I understand if you are busy and under a lot a pressure and i understand what it's like to serve a

We sat in the patio section. Loved that there was no smoking allowed. Steak sandwich great big and juicy. 3 trio dips spinach, olives and oil, and hummus. The one I kept going back for too dip the spinach. Had a meat and cheese tray good but wished we would of received less of the ends of the wonderfully tasting meats, needed more than just 2 cheeses though. 2 beers on tap....$67. Yes we will return.

This place looks like it might really be hopping during the ski season. We had dinner there last week. They do some pretty creative things with food to put them together on the plate. It looks like all of the art is in the plating.

I had a shrimp and scallop dish. They put some good fresh steamed vegetables in a bowl including a half-moon of a large zucchini, a couple of carrots and red bell pepper. Then the nestled a puff pastry in the center and spooned over the shrimp and scallops mixture.

The plate looked plain at first glance, but I appreciated the rim of green going halfway around the
