All main floor rooms offer an outside door, which is convenient for those fishermen who like to have their boats in close proximity. Our executive rooms are great for the travelling business person, offering a king size bed, flat screen TV and optimal desk space.
The newly renovated lounge offers a fully licensed lounge and night club. The lounge VIP area can be reserved for a variety of events: meetings, birthdays, bachelor or bachelorette party's, anniversary or anything you'd like to celebrate. Wedding socials and other fundraising socials are frequently held in the lounge.
Red Lake is located at the end of Highway 105. If you are driving from the U.S., the easiest way to get to Red Lake is to go through the International Falls/Fort Frances border. Go east from Fort Frances on Highway 11 for approximately 30 km (18 miles), then head north on Highway 502.
When you reach Highway 17, turn west (left) away from Dryden (or make a right if you'd like to stop in Dryden for a bite to eat or do some last minute shopping) and head towards Vermilion Bay for 45 km (28 miles). At Vermilion Bay, take Highway 105 north 172 km (106 miles) to the Municipality of Red Lake.

Absolutely terrible. There first time I stayed at the Balmer hotel was in winter of 2017. It was -25C outside when we arrived, no one thought to turn the heat on in the room (we even made reservations before hand). The mattresses was bagged out as hell and cigarette burns on the blanket (really?).
Second stay 2 years later. Stayed in the detached section of the hotel, tried to warm up some food in the microwave and it didn’t seem to turn on. I followed the power cord to the microwave and it was plugged into a power bar which was plugged into another power bar which was plugged into the wall

Went to the Balmer for breakfast. Had the Breakfast Skillet and it was excellent. Potatoes were perfect and the value for the price was excellent. They even brought my 2 girls' milk in the cutest little cups with lids. The Balmer is always a tradition with my family when I'm back in the Red Lake area (Balmertown).
