Canada's healthcare system is second to none. Every Canadian at some point in life, will reach out for a physician, a nurse, or a personal support worker, and have one take their hand. That is the promise of Canada's national healthcare system, and the goal of highly trained healthcare professionals throughout the country.

But there are challenges too. Canada is facing a shortage of healthcare workers that is bringing the system to a dangerous point in its long history. A lack of healthcare professionals (especially in Canada's northern communities) is compromising the system as we know it, and jeopardizing the quality of our healthcare.
