I have some really mixed feelings about staying here. First - if you don't like being woken up by trail grooming and snowcats at 3am, don't book a slope side room.
Positives: location and access to the gondola, lifts, and the Village...and the decor has been updated to feel modern and sleek. There's snacks, beer, and wine at the front desk, which is really convenient. Ptom's is a totally reasonably priced restaurant and quick, which is nice. They also have a TV screen, so we caught part of a football game while grabbing a quick bite.
Downsides: the room wasn't particularly clean, the shower curtain

I’d give this place no stars if I could. Never in my life has my service dog been discriminated against until I met the general manager. She was rude, condescending and frankly shouldn’t be working in hospitality at all. The only reason why we chose to stay here was because it’s close to the gondola, and it is advertised as pet friendly which it’s not. During check in the girl at the front desk was nice, but then the GM walked out when she threw pet fees in front of us and amenity fees which were never mentioned during the booking process. The GM walked out, didn’t greet us, said a bunch

Clean. Nice decor. Nice rooms. We were even offered a beer on arrival which we were under the impression was "complimentary." .... Would have given 5 stars! However....When I checked out, I asked to see my bill and was told it would be emailed to me. I wanted to check the charges but the girl at the counter said "my computer is slow" and wouldn't give me my final payment. Come to find out we were charged for the 4 oz shot of beer we were offered. Don't think about trying to contact this place because the phone will just ring endlessly. Tried contacting them prior to our stay to ask a question and

Great place. Clean, cozy, friendly. Cool old school refrigerator in the room.
Bed was soft and comfy!
I travel for work, and usually stay at 2 hotel Chains. The beds are always hard. At them.
I was so happy Ptarmigan had soft comfy beds. Slept great!

Odd to have so many negative reviews here for this hotel as it really was pretty great. We arrived a bit early but the staff and the GM both went out of their way to get our room ready for us. They offered a free check in beer or root beer (small but still nice touch) and had a plethora of other snacks/drinks at the check in desk. Room was perfectly fine for my wife and I and found it to be very clean and in good shape. My only complaints would be the pillows being a bit too stiff for our liking and the AC making some odd noises in the middle of the night. All in all, great location, fair prices

I loved my stay here! My room was very clean and so cute (love the retro fridge!), the staff was friendly and accommodating, and the price was great. I'd highly recommend the Ptarmigan Inn if you're looking for a unique and comfortable stay.

Came to Steamboat for my wife's birthday. Thought we found a nice place considering the high rate and photos. Seems modern and fun! The mattress was creaky, with a hill in the middle, hard as a rock... apparently ancient. The pillows were too huge and firm. It was like sleeping on a sofa cushion. Soap dispensers in the shower were empty, but gold star for being eco friendly I guess. Wasn't worth the price paid, not a comfortable stay.

I had a wonderful stay at the Ptarmigan Inn. The front desk staff was amazing (especially Rebecca) and offered a beer or non-alcoholic beverage at check-in. The location for summer or winter can't be beaten. You walk out the back door to the ski hill and hiking trails.
This hotel has been around a long time but was recently renovated down to the studs. The rooms are comfortable, clean and they hold two adults without any issue (more than two people would be pushing it for the size room I was in).
Check out the patio deck and watch the sunset in the evening. Not enough folks were taking advantage

My son's baseball team was up in Steamboat Springs for a Triple Crown tournament. It was a stay and play and they were a preferred provider. What an amazing place. The staff was so kind and very helpful. They went out of their way to make sure our stay was wonderful. I lost one of my diamond earrings underneath the door jam trim in the bathroom and the maintenance man took apart the door and trim to retrieve my earring. The restaurant on site was as equally good. The food and staff were amazing! I would definitely stay there again!

First thing: The Keys and The Doghouse Pub share a kitchen. We love the Doghouse. The reason we don't like The Keys was because of our experience going there for lunch. The food at both locations is good but
DO NOT GO HERE FOR LUNCH. Service was slow and the servers didn't really know what they were doing. My husband asked if he could substitute the menu soup for the lunch special soup and the answer was "well the menu soup is a big bowl" so he responded "well can I have that soup in the bowl size for the special" and the server actually had to ask the manager about

Last week my wife picked me up after work and offered to take me for dinner. We headed to the Keys at the Prarmigan Inn, a favourite spot to dine. Not only were we not disappointed , we we delightfully rewarded with a meal well worth well talking about (and we have been). We shared the dinner special of steak, lobster , shrimp, veggies and spuds as well as a Caesar salad. We would not have Ben able to finish the generous portions had it not been that it was so freakin good we could not leave any behind. Our compliments to the kitchen and my thanks to the Mrs for "a right proper feeding
