Dr. Rex Crawford joined DVS after graduation from the Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph in 2005. Dr. Crawford grew up on a purebred Shorthorn beef cattle and Suffolk sheep farm near Glencoe Ontario. He continues to be involved in the farm - still operated by his parents and brother and sister-in-law - including owning a small group of purebred Simmental cows with his nieces.
Dr. Crawford enjoys all aspects of Large Animal practice - and especially the variety that working on multiple species offers. He has a special interest in Small Ruminant health and management and was the inaugural president of the Small Ruminant Veterinarians of Ontario (SRVO) and is currently a board member.

We feel every horse should receive vaccinations for Rabies and Tetanus each year and also offer protection against West Nile Virus, Eastern and Western Encephalitis Viruses, Influenza, Rhinopneumonitis, and Strangles.
We can tailor a vaccine program for both cows and calves to your specific herd. We will use historical disease information, herd size, calving season and marketing plan to determine the best vaccines and timing for your herd. We can tailor a parasite control program based on risk, timing and cost to provide a cost effective plan.
We offer reproductive services with ultrasound pregnancy detection on a schedule to meet each herd's needs. We can diagnose pregnancies at 28 days gestation. As part of these visits we will discuss strategies to optimize your herd's pregnancy rate including reproductive control programs for timed AI.
Prevention of disease is important to both big and small flocks. As well as our local clients, Dr. Crawford provides Flock Health consulting services throughout the province. We enjoy working as part of a team with nutritionists and other service providers to improve the health and productivity of both meat and milk producing flocks.
