Mediation is a process of resolving disputes which is conducted by an experienced mediation practitioner (the mediator) and puts the people who are in the dispute (the parties) very much at the centre of the process. Mike Van Dusen had a varied and diverse background before deciding to pursue a career in law. Mike grew up in the bilingual town of Aylmer, Qubec. He worked in surveying on the LG2 Hydro project; as a restaurant manager; as a part-time French teacher; and as an editor for the Canadian Press before attending Ottawa University for both his undergraduate degree in Communications and his LLB.
Guth is a civil litigator with over 20 years of litigation experience at local and national firms in Ottawa. She specializes in insurance and personal injury law, dealing with motor vehicle accident, slip and fall, fire loss, property damage, and product liability claims, as well as insurance coverage issues.
Darla Tims joined the Van Dusen Law Office in February of 2009 in the position of Legal Secretary. If you call or drop into the office, she will be the one to answer your call or greet you at the front door. Her duties range from opening/closing files to preparing and reviewing pre-bills/bills, invoice payments, bank deposits, organizing filing cabinets, travel arrangements, ordering office supplies, and general office administration.
