Jason Shelly is a founding partner of SKS Law with a practice focused on corporate, estate and succession planning and municipal law. Called to the Ontario bar in 2002 and the New York bar in 2003, Jason spent several years working in Europe in investment banking, where he provided legal advice related to capital markets and mergers and acquisitions.
Steve's extensive experience in financing and commercial real estate matters has developed into a new business law and commercial practice wherein he provides regular advice to various businesses. Steve aspires to be a trusted advisor to each and every one of the firm's clients. This means earning trust through hard work, responsiveness and attention to detail; the philosophy that all lawyers at SKS Law adhere to.
David Shelly is counsel to SKS LAW LLP and a member of the Firm's municipal law and land planning group. David has 40 years' experience representing municipalities in Eastern Ontario and is designated as a Law Society of Upper Canada specialist in municipal law in both areas of specialty, namely: local government; and land use planning and development.
Nathan is an Associate at SKS Law with a practice focused on civil litigation, corporate, commercial and employment law. Nathan earned his law degree from the University of Windsor in 2019 and was called to the bar in 2020. While attending law school, Nathan was invested in his community, spending time working with Pro Bono Students Canada, Community Legal Assistance Clinics, and several peer-support initiatives.

I would never recommend this firm. I asked for a short consultation and was charged for the work I did not ask for, nor got a service for. When I paid for the time I used with the lawyer, by the way he charges $425/hours, the firm sent me an invoice for the time I never asked for. When I did not pay, they sued me.

I only know a junior, Shelbi Dippold, but if the others are as good I would rate SKS as a standout among Ottawa area law firms. I have certainly had some less happy experiences thereof. Mine was a very sad and trying situation, which she quickly understood and then resolved in the simplest and best possible way. Very responsive, clear, and smart. Retain SKS Law if you can.
