St Paul Veterinary Clinic
We take pride in continuing the legacy of St. Paul Veterinary Clinic, established by Dr. George Bosnyak in 1949. Drs. Craig and Anita Hellquist purchased the practice in 1997. St. Paul Veterinary Clinic is committed to mentorship and we have had many students from local high schools, animal health technology students and veterinary students work with us over the years.

Come see our "wall of fame" and see if you recognize anyone! Dr. Craig Hellquist was recently honoured by his colleagues and former students with the 2020 AbVMA Mentorship award. Our team is happy to answer any questions you may have or schedule a convenient appointment for you. We have a dedicated team of doctors and technicians that are looking forward to caring for your pet.
Services
Dr. Craig Hellquist joined the practice in 1992, and he and his wife, Dr. Anita Hellquist, became the owners in 1997. They continue to enjoy providing excellent veterinary care for St. Paul and the surrounding area. In 2019 Dr. Jasmin Teske joined our veterinary team after having spent two summers with us as a veterinary student, and graduating as a DVM from WCVM U. of Sask.
St. Paul Veterinary Clinic carries carefully selected over the counter veterinary products for both livestock and pets, and can advise you on their effective use. We carry most commonly used prescription. We provide basic health care services for horses, including examinations and minor surgical procedures.
When you contact our practice, we will be happy to answer any questions you have, and arrange an appointment if necessary. You will be asked to provide contact information as well as specific information about your pet, which we keep confidential. Upon arrival, one of our receptionists will welcome you and weigh your pet, before bringing you to an exam room.
Dental disease is the most frequently diagnosed health problem in pets, and may make your dog or cat painful and uncomfortable, or lead to much more serious problems such as. Skin problems are very common in dogs and cats, and have a vast range of underlying causes. Often a diagnosis is determined by physical examination, but further testing such.
Our experienced veterinarians provide many surgical services at our clinic, ranging from routine to advanced procedures. We perform a physical exam before surgery, and your pet is closely monitored during anesthesia by a qualified veterinary technician. Appropriate pain medication is administered to keep your pet comfortable during recovery.

Would not take any of my pets (family) to any other clinic unless I had no choice. Dr. Craig is the best, most compassionate, gentlest veterinarian I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with for our precious pets.

Vet was rude. Confirmed an appointment with them sent medical records. Talked to receptionist a couple time as to what was to be done. The vet called and cancelled it as I was driving to appointment and was rude.
Follow up - St. Paul Vet called me to ask about my experience... when I started to explain my experience the woman said "she found it hard to believe" and "sometimes I need to put myself in someone else's shoes". Why on earth they would follow up with me to NOT listen to my experience is beyond me?!
This really points to a company that is not interested in improving their customers experience

Very accommodating and professional. Very satisfied with services provided by this long standing business started in 1948 and purchased by Dr. Craig Hellquist and his family many years ago. Facility is roomy, professionally laid out with a large reception/retail area. Lots of adjacent parking.

Called there for a very sick ferret, was told would call me back, that they had to talk to vet first. 1 hour later, no call, so I took my ferret to a different vet. 2 hours later, still no call so I called them and said was at vermilion vet and their reply was, Oh, okay. If not for vermilion, my ferret would have died. I would not use this vet unless last option!!! Had to put one star to post, but I rate at NO STARS!!!
