Sometimes, a pleasurable hobby or interest can become a full time occupation, especially when you excel at what you do. At first, your talent might only attract the interest of family or close friends, but word of mouth is one of the best advertising tools, and before you know it you're at it full time.
And that is how we, Margery Smith and Rita Wagner, moved from hobby to business! Thirty-five years ago, Marge and Rita worked in the insurance industry in Waterloo when they realized and recognized they had other talents! They "stripped" as a hobby in their spare time! They were very good at "stripping!" Furniture stripping that is!

Services
Tell us what changes you would like, i.e., stain the same colour, different colour, or painted any colour you can imagine. Maybe your furniture only needs repairs, or you just want something stripped and you will finish it yourself. We will reply in a few days when we've had time to review your pictures and determine price ranges for you.
Furniture Stripping: We hand strip using a liquid or semi paste stripper depending on the furniture piece we are stripping. For "do-it-yourself" projects, we also offer a "strip only" service. Furniture Staining: All furniture to be stained or finished goes through a sanding and small defect repair process.
On solid wood furniture, any type of repair is usually possible and some special pieces of unique construction require special care. Veneer is a thin slice of any kind of wood. Since the 15th century, refined furniture has always been dressed with veneer. Sometimes it is the same kind of wood as the rest of the piece or a more decorative wood veneer has been added to the tabletop, dresser top and drawer fronts.
Along with their staff, Natasha Wight, Steve Baker, the Head Office location continues to provide experienced quality work for all of Kitchener-Waterloo and the surrounding area. If you live in Guelph, take all your antique refinishing needs to The Strippers! at Silvercreek Parkway and Speedvale Road.

We had an antique rocking chair that a moving company broke in our move. After plenty of research we choose strippers because the way they were going to fix the wood on the broken leg was the one we were most comfortable with. They did an amazing job! They offered to upholster, but we declined as we are waiting until it is necessary but will be back! They were thorough and they were communicative. It took longer than we anticipated but it was worth the wait.

We are so pleased with our new dining room suite that you refinished. Although the pieces are not the same wood, now they all match and are useful for us. As you know, we removed the straw and old innards of the chairs. Now we have new foam and very comfortable seating. I'd like to send you a picture of the suite.

We moved from Calgary Alberta to Brantford Ontario and our movers damaged 90% of our Teak vintage designer furniture. We contacted the Strippers and explained our situation where we lived and what happened in the move, they seemed very eager to work with us and our insurance company.
We sent them many pictures both before and after along with detailed measurements for them to give us a rough estimate on the repairs. After I sent them they stated that they would need to come to home to view the items. I agreed and sent them our address.
We did not get any response for two weeks so we called them
