Nice room. Great view from the 8th floor. Comfy bed. Pretty good restaurant on site. Easy walking distance to other businesses and offices. Close to the airport and has a good shuttle from the hotel.

Nice hotel in Yellowknife with an airport shuttle and central location. Just wish they had a late menu in their restaurant, or that someone would answer the in room dining phone in the morning. Those with a late arrival and an AM flight the next day will want to plan meals accordingly.

Horrible experience will not return
My wife, myself and 2 dogs stayed here for 4 days.
Here are my observations:
1. Reserved a large room with a King size bed, and was told that due to incompetent staff, we were not able to get that room. Only double Queen beds are in pet friendly rooms, not King size beds.
1a. There was zero compensation for this error, even though this reservation was made weeks in advance.
2. The hotel's front door was being repaired. Guests had to use another entrance that has stairs (no ramp)and manual doors. Guests should have been forewarned via email.
3. The room

The location is good and the room was ok. Great view and the room was clean and furnished acceptably. I was upset about the hotels communication about their shuttle. I understand that it’s COVID and many services have had to change and adapt. My problem was the lack of communication about those changes. I learned the hard way that the shuttle bus stopped running quite early (before 6pm). I was left at the airport. I don’t think the hotel has a standard time to end their shuttle service and I unless you fly at a early flight don’t expect to catch the shuttle. Overall nice enough hotel but

I checked in to this hotel on February 28, 2021 for self-isolation. I was so tired after driving for 24 hours in two days. I did not check to ensure the cleanliness of the hotel. After two days in isolation and being bored, I wanted to make some push-ups. The floor was filled with fur, see attached photos. I would have probably died if I was allergic to cats or dogs. I requested for a vacuum cleaner to cleanup the mess and the vacuum cleaner was the worse I have ever used. After cleaning up the fur, I placed the vacuum cleaner in front of my hotel door and it was there for five days. It was only

Had a great weekend in Yellowknife besides our stay at the Explorer Hotel. Unfortunately a few hundred dollars worth of items got stolen from our room while we were out for an early meal Saturday afternoon. At this time house keeping had been in when we were out. We tried to contact the manager of the hotel but the front desk was unwilling to help and stated that we must have misplaced our items and that their staff does not steal - without even allowing us to finish speaking. It’s really upsetting as we went to Yellowknife to do some shopping. We trusted enough in the hotel to keep our belongings

The suite is awesome. During covid we found the cleaning service to be lacking. We had a lovely 3 course dinner served in our room however the dessert plates and wine glasses were never removed. We were there for 2 nights. The hallways were not tidied up. The same pieces of paper that were in the floor in the hallway leading to the room were still then in checkout.

Dont book a reservation with this hotel. If you book online they charge you for full. i only found out when i got my credit card bill. No recept ever sent to me.The website is very sneeky. I thought i was booking a deluxe room. Wasn't cheeping out. Covid hits and they wont refund my 1000 dollars. Just offer a one yr credit, which is no good to me. Im out 1000 dollars. I was going for a wedding not leisure. I even offered to take a one night stay cancelation fee. Was told no. Ill make sure to tell all family and friends not to book at this hotel when the wedding is rescheduled.

The staffs promised us to arrange and we reserved seats for shuttle bus but on the day of the scheduled shuttle bus the bus was cancelled due to their personal reason but we were not informed. We talked to the front desk manager on duty but her attitude was very poor and just called a cab for us. I think it was fine but I think the staffs should have informed us in advance and arrange other alternatives. The attitude from the front desk manager was also a problem.

The food at hotel is good. They do have computer room for guest. They have bus can pick you up and drop you off at airport, like 10mins drive. you can see the aurora in your room if aurora is active. We saw three days in the row.

Overall a nice hotel. The staff was always friendly. The bathroom featured a great shower with lots of hot water. The breakfast buffet was only okay; it had excellent bacon, but wet and runny scrambled eggs.

I can't give 5 stars because of two things. One, steam from taking showers set off the fire alarm in our room more than once. Also, the Wi-Fi only worked intermittently.

There aren't many options in Yellowknife when it comes to hotels, and the Explorer Hotel is most certainly the largest. On par with any decent 3.5-star hotel in urban centres.

The rooms won't win any design awards, but they get the job done. Very comfortable pillows. A desk and fast wireless Internet access. And in-room control of the heat -- you can take it from air conditioned (though, in Yellowknife, why?!) to very warm.

A couple of things didn't make the stay perfect. Beware the shower! The temperature can fluctuate instantly and drastically. One second you're enjoying
