Services
Mothercraft Ottawa, a leader in early learning and care since 1944, is a charitable non-profit organization that enriches the well-being of families with infants and young children through responsive, high quality programs and services. Mothercraft Ottawa delivers child care for children aged 6 weeks to 12 years through licensed child care centres and home child care, before-and-after-school programs and part-time/casual care.
At Mothercraft Ottawa's Evered Avenue location, we offer Full Time and Part Time Child Care Programs for children between the ages of 6 weeks and 5 years. Our centre, located in the heart of Westboro, has large spacious playrooms and shaded play yards for the children. Additionally, each group has their own main playroom and a gross motor room.
Located at Mothercraft Ottawa's Evered Avenue location, the EarlyON Child and Family Centre is one of six EarlyON Child and Family Centres across Ottawa. Programs and our services are free of charge for all parents and caregivers of children aged 0 to 6 years, residing in Ontario.

Regulated by the Ministry of Education, our programs and services provide opportunities for all children six years of age and under, together with their parents/caregivers, to participate in play and inquiry-based programs, and for parents and caregivers to receive support in their roles and have access to information about child development and specialized services as needed.
Mothercraft Ottawa's Licensed Home Child Care Program has been providing quality child care for children from infancy to 12 years of age since 1983. We offer unlimited child care spaces in areas throughout the City of Ottawa and subsidized spaces are available upon approval by the City of Ottawa.

Parents tell us that this program gives them the "best of both worlds" as they receive the benefits of a family atmosphere and individual attention, combined with legislated standards for quality and safety. Our program is licensed by the Ontario Ministry of Education and governed by the Child Care and Early Year's Act.
The Mothercraft Elmdale location has provided before and after school care for the families at Elmdale Public School since 2004. Our goal is to work in cooperation with the school staff to create a relaxed but stimulating environment that makes learning fun. Our Extended Day Program is integrated within the school through our shared use of classrooms, outdoor space and equipment.

We have had a great experience with Mothercraft, and our daughter loves going! The staff are friendly and seem to truly enjoy being there. We have had no major issues, and would recommend it to anyone looking for daycare.

We just took the prenatal course that is offered through Mothercraft. It was such an excellent resource and our instructor (Courtney) was a real wealth of knowledge. She covered so much material that would typically be overwhelming or even tedious to go over but she did it in a way that was really interesting, concise and personalized. We did like that it was all in a one day course, and the resources we left with are certainly going to be put to good use. Nothing but good things to say, highly recommend.

I had a terrible week here before withdrawing my infant daughter and finding other care for her. The staff never bothered to learn her name, or really anything about her and 4 of the 5 days I went to pick her up she was sitting alone crying with no one speaking to her or tending to her either in a corner or strapped into a high chair with no food or toys. I could go on but needless to say we were very unhappy with the infant program.
