We first opened our Shelburne clinic in 2002 in a few rooms in our house. Our practice grew rapidly, outgrowing the space we had allotted it, and soon the full house became devoted to the care of our patients. Within three short years, a second physiotherapist joined our clinic and in 2006 we added a certified massage therapist to our team.
Massage therapy proved to be a valuable adjunct to physiotherapy. We soon observed that mutual treatment contributed importantly to the achievement of our client's goals. Our experience, subjectively and objectively, has been that frequent professional collaboration among our therapists improves therapy outcomes for our clients.

Services
First, our attention is completely on you, your goals and personal circumstances. Second, we see ourselves as your partner in the process of reclaiming your health. We recognize that your body has a remarkable ability to heal and our goal is to direct and speed the process. We offer physiotherapy, occupational therapy, kinesiology, massage therapy and acupuncture.
Physiotherapists understand how our bodies move and how to keep us moving. On your first visit, your therapist will spend an hour with you. He or she will interview you to learn your medical history, examine you, make an objective assessment, arrive at a clinical diagnosis, and design a treatment plan based on your individual needs.
Like all healing therapies, occupational therapy is both an art and a science, combining trained and reasoned judgment with insight born of experience and vision. Our goal is to foster well-being and health in every client by enabling him or her to participate in the occupations of everyday life. We believe that health has many dimensions and is not just the absence of disease.
Anyone who has experienced massage at Shelburne Physiotherapy can tell you how GOOD it feels! Some of our patients become so relaxed that they fall asleep under the hands of our skilled massage therapists. This stress relief is an important aspect of massage, but Therapeutic Massage is so much more than the "warm and fuzzy."
Shelburne Physiotherapy is proud to offer a new and innovative approach to pain reduction and healing. Where other modalities have failed, Shockwave Therapy has been proven to be an effective form of treatment for a variety of injuries that otherwise would require surgical intervention. In as few as 3-6 treatments, Shockwave Therapy can have you back to your pre-injury state without any serious side effects or complications.
