Situated on the quiet side of Algonquin Park, our traditional log cabins are well-spaced along the lake shore. With six fully-equipped private cottages, Hay Lake is the perfect place to disconnect from the city and reconnect with nature. Even when we are full, we are never crowded. There is no noise.
We enjoy giving our guests a chance to completely relax, recharge and enjoy the natural surroundings. Our 16-kilometre-long lake has plenty of structure and shoreline to fish or explore by boat, canoe or kayak. And we are only a 15-minute drive from Algonquin Park's East Gate if you want to explore its trails, museums and programs.

Services
Hay Lake Lodge & Cottages is owned and operated by Erin and Phil Morlock. For more than 30 years, we have provided guests with a quiet and peaceful place to relax and unwind. With no television or phone to distract in interrupt, each cabin has a private feeling. When you sit on your porch, you see the lake, not your neighbour.
Hay Lake Lodge began back in 1953 when Gordon and Clover Palbiski opened a cabin with a kitchen. Clover's family (the Averys) had operated the Opeongo Lodge in Algonquin Park since the 30s. Gordon's dad knew this point of land and told them it would make a great place for a lodge.
With some hard work and a willingness to build from the ground up, combined with Clover's famous cooking skills, Hay Lake Lodge became a welcoming point for fishermen and hunters, and then their families.Phil Morlock started coming to Algonquin Park with his parents when he was five. On his first solo trip in 1969, he was looking for a place to stay and came across Hay Lake Lodge.

Had a weekend with my girls and stayed at the Birches. We were the first one to stay there this season. The resort is owned by a wonderful lady Erin who is so accommodating and makes sure your stay is a 5 star. Our cabin was AWESOME. The cabin is super clean! Everything you need is there which was lovely. They offer canoes and kayaks which are in top shape. The lodge is amazing and my girls loved it. Docks are well kept with chairs you can use. The lake is like no other, its clean and quiet with no motor boats that I saw. Its perfect for canoe and kayak. Our weekend could not have been more perfect

We stayed in the lodge the last weekend of September, 2020. It was the fall color peak time in Algonquin. Hay Lake is between Algonquin PK and the lodge. The whole place was so beautiful in golden colors. Canoeing in the morning was superb. The host, Erin is living on the property and she is there for you all the time. The lodge is very quiet and clean, and has an easy access to the lake. We enjoyed our stay.

This is our 5th? 6th? time at Hay Lake and although breakfast is no longer offered it was still a magical escape. Erin and her staff have made amazing adjustments during Covid-19 and we felt totally safe. Everything was (as usual) spotless, but with an extra layer of diligence and thoughtfulness. Having our canoe right by our cottage was a great perk! We love how rustic and casual everything is. No extraneous gadgets or devices, but you get everything you need to unplug and restore.

This is our 3rd visit to Hay Lake Lodges in the past 6 years. We have been to so many countryside cottages and we have to say this is the place we highly recommend. Owner Erin Morlock and her crew are super nice and friendly. If you are looking for family vacation, friend’s get-together, or romantic couple getaway, you are looking at the perfect place. You can enjoy the earful natural sounds, beautiful sunrise & sunset, quiet and peaceful moment, unlimited fishing & boating experience, and many more. Last but not the least, we would rate the cleanliness of the lodges over 5 stars, especially

My wife and I booked three days get away for our first anniversary as a marry couple at hay lake lodge, a week before the trip, I ask Erin if she could help me surprise my wife with flowers waiting at the cottage and a card. She didn't just surprised my wife, but me as well! she didn't just got the flowers and the card, but she also upgraded our cottage to a bigger one with fire place. We had an amazing time there, and Erin was a great host that went beyond and above for us.

Absolutely phenomenal experience at Hay Lake Lodge. Erin took us in at the last minute when another local lodge cancelled our reservation upon arrival because we brought our infant. The end result couldn't have worked out better. Hay Lake is absolutely stunning and the friendliness of Erin and her staff was amazing. If the included use of the canoes and kayaks isn't enough for you, the drive to Algonquin Park is relatively short. We had a solid breakfast delivered each morning to our cottage and there were some good restaurants in the town of Whitney to grab dinner at (shout out to the pizza place

My wife, our two-year old son, and I spent a few nights here around Canadian Thanksgiving. It was a beautiful time to be in the area, and we had a wonderful stay at Hay Lake Lodge and Cottages. Erin (owner) gave us lots of information before our trip and even provided a high chair and crib. While there, she answered all our questions with expertise and pointed us in the right direction to experience the excellent fall colours in Algonquin Park. Our cottage was well-appointed and the breakfasts were a nice treat -- my wife especially appreciated the nectarine GF muffins on our last morning. Oh right
