Services
The Erie Beach Hotel was once a 60 room summer resort where you could stay for $10-$12 per week including meals. It has gone through many changes since then. In 1946, Harold and Marjorie Schneider bought the hotel and it soon became known for its delicious home cooked meals. With Harold's strong business sense and Marjorie's natural talent for decorating and cooking, they created the Erie Beach traditions that still exist today.
Located one block from the beach and harbour-front, our hotel is the perfect location for your getaway! Relax, rejuvenate, and recharge with us; you deserve it!. We have 18 comfortable motel-style. All rooms are non-smoking and pet-free. We take great pride in the upkeep of our building, and our rooms receive small updates each year.
Allow us to take you on a culinary journey in one of our restaurants. We have something for everyone! We offer full service dining in the Cove Room, or casual dining in the Terrace Room (Upstairs.) We encourage you to try our famous Erie Beach perch & celery bread, but you can also enjoy a quick drink and appetizer or go for the full dining experience.
Port Dover is situated on the north shore of Lake Erie. Our picturesque port was once the home of the world's largest fresh water fishing fleet. Port Dover's specialty is Lake Erie perch and the Erie Beach Hotel's dining rooms are known far and wide for our perch and pickerel dinners. Today Port Dover's main industry is tourism.

Had turkey dinner with a group of seniors on December 14. Basically the meal was uneatable the vegetables were mush, potatoes cold and the turkey dry and tasted like leftovers. We were served a large plate of food that was very disappointing. The service was good the room pleasant enough. I hope this serves as a lesson for the kitchen, please up your game.

Absolutely fantastic. Atmosphere was incredible and the food was superb. We both got the perch dinners. Two sides of celery bread and onion rings. All very good.

Was recommended this restaurant inside the hotel and we were impressed by the fresh good old bar food - especially the pickerel and cod.
It's easy to get sloppy on good old bar food... throw it it deep fryer and let it do the job but not here. All items were fresh and servers were attentive.

Awesome fish (perch, pickerel).
Plenty of other goodness on the menu.
Fantastic staff, very knowledgeable.
We go minimal once a year, worth the 2 hours drive.

The town is really nice, restaurants around are great, the perch is really good at all of them. Great view and access to beach area. Hotel wise not that good, smaller rooms and the wall thickness might a we'll be paper, you can hear the neighboring rooms TV and people snoring all through the night. I would recommend a day trip but a no for overnights. I was disappointed overall in the end for quality of room to price.

Squeezed in a late September rooftop patio lunch before the bad weather sets in. View was so pretty, overlooking the lake. While they’re known for their perch dinners and celery bread, we just enjoyed their homemade soup and battered mushrooms. Their soups are always excellent, today’s was broccoli, cheddar and bacon… exceptional and very filling. The ‘shrooms are never greasy and the side dip is delicious! Definitely a place to enjoy a meal while visiting Port Dover!

The new rooftop terrace is amazing 😍
The views are spectacular the staff was wonderful there's a wash remote there and a mist machine for hot days. The porch was delicious as usual. The celery bread was on point. The fries were really good I forgot to order gravy this time but they were still good without it.

Our room was very large, wall to wall windows with 2 options for blinds, black out or light. It was well equipped with a couch, foot stool/coffee table. Internet was great. The steps up and hallway were brightly painted appeared to be newly installed. The owners clearly enjoy horticulture and everything is beautiful. So nice to have parking included!

For a nice hotel in a small town you'll have a hard time finding a better place. We were at "off peak" so there was easy parking. The staff were 11/10! The place is clean and we had "glass" glasses in the rooms (to me, it shows they care). It's a small town so directions are easy but l was certainly given excellent navigation points. Great value for my money.

Busy bikers day in the Port. Went for a late lunch in the hotels Terrace Room . It was busy but hardly a wait in line.
Had the 7oz perch dinner. About seven pieces of perch, fries and celery bread.
They forgot to give me the celery bread until I asked for it and promptly brought me a piece.
Everything was tasty enough but I found the fish a bit soft and soggy and lukewarm . I like the fish a bit more crispy and warm.
The local cider was very good also.
Kind of expensive though with perch dinner and cider with tip was just over $40.

Usually pretty good but tonight the perch was really big and hard to believe it was Lake Erie perch because of the size. Lots of bones in the fish BIG TURN OFF.

Friendly service, although they have the enclosed balcony closed on a VERY nice day. Seafood platters were delicious. Celery bread, cucumber salad, go nuts, you will enjoy.

BUT... The garden salad lettuce was wilted and tasted gross, old and thawed out. They replaced it quickly and it was less depressing but still pretty sad vegetables.

Weirdly, they serve the seafood and tartar sauce in tiny plastic cups. Environmentally ignorant and messy and inconvenient for the diners. Come on guys, dump that sauce in a bowl, really.

I'm talking about the Terrace Room, not the fancy place downstairs

We've been going to the Erie Beach for perch for over 35 years. The perch and pickerel is the best you'll ever have. Celery bread is awesome too. It is quite expensive but this restaurant offers you a unique dining experience that you simply won't find anywhere else. That makes it worth a special trip to the Erie Beach a couple times a year.

I really like coming here for dinner. They have great perch dinners, and I also like their chicken wings and celery bread. The highlight of my visits is their homemade pecan pie, it's incredible! Everyone that I brought here before really enjoyed the pie. You can't compare it other pecan pies out there, so I highly recommend.

The food is all very good. Nothing spectacular but it has great flavor. We have had the battered mushrooms, chicken wings, clam strip basket, perch dinner, and the fish and chips.

The thing that sets this place apart is it's wonderful pecan pie. It is seriously the best pie I have ever had. I'm not a big dessert person at all but this is the one sweet I can't turn down. I'd give it a 10/5 if I could.

The service is pretty subpar. Mostly older ladies who are just there to socialize with their waitress friends. I once went an entire meal without my water being refilled. It

The Terrace Room at the Erie Beach Hotel is an excellent, relaxing restaurant with friendly staff, excellent food and great value. Try the perch snack or the hot beef sandwich. True comfort food. The Erie Beach supports Norfolk County farmers and butchers by sourcing the majority of their ingredients locally. Plus, the kids love the large aquarium with colourful tropical fish. It's a place where the locals hang out, so you know it's good. Owners and manager are always present, ensuring top-notch service.

Went again yesterday for lunch. It was terrific. This place is truly a time capsule. Opened in 1946 and still serving great locally caught fresh lake perch....and awesome celery bread. The salad carts are also a unique feature. Take the drive you won't be sorry.

This is a pretty neat place - located in the heart of Port Dover just minutes from the beach.

We've gone there a number of times for meals over the years as a ' destination ' day out .....especially for the perch - perch is synonymous with Port Dover ( apart from Friday the 13th of course )

As the other poster mentioned, the dining room at the hotel is amazing in terms of it's ' dated ' decor - it feels like you've stepped into a time warp dining in a room back in the late 50's or early 60's. The dining room relish tray and perch dinners are just
