For over 50 years, Stubberfield Funeral Home has served Powell River families with burial and cremation arrangements as unique as their loved one. They know our services honour their different traditions and beliefs. It's as simple and complex as that. At Stubberfield we guide families with compassionate care before, during and after the service.
We focus on the details, to help make the healing journey easier. The death of a loved one can set in motion challenging emotional forces. Typically, it brings family and friends together to offer each other support, share memories and honour a life well lived. We thank all of the families that have shared their feelings with us about our services.

Services
For over 30 years Patrick and Joanne Gisle have provided compassionate personalized support to Powell River families dealing with the challenges that follow the loss of a loved one. At Stubberfield we feel that a meaningful, dignified burial or cremation should not constitute a financial hardship. So when service arrangements are made, we listen closely to the family.
Every life is different and every family situation is different. Stubberfield Funeral Home offers cremation or burial, memorial or celebration of life and simple disposition choices as unique as your loved one. Time is set aside to view open or closed casket, usually the evening before or day of service.
These listings represent funeral services entrusted to our care. Since it's not always possible to attend a service in person, you are encouraged to use our interactive online tributes to leave a condolence, share a memory, post a photo or simply light a candle. If the service you seek is not shown use the "Search Tributes" feature.
We have developed a thoughtful guide to help you attend to the numerous details at this difficult time. When someone dies in hospital, hospice or a nursing home: As soon as possible contact us directly or ask the nursing staff to do this on your behalf. Later, notify family members and close friends.
A funeral is an opportunity to pay tribute to someone you love. For those who are left behind, a service provides a place for family and friends to gather to support one another. It is an opportunity to celebrate the life and accomplishments of a loved one. It is the starting point from which the grief-healing process may begin.

Our family had a terrible experience with this funeral home when our father passed away. The staff made numerous mistakes that left us feeling uncertain about the care they were providing for us. The lack of compassion shown to the family was astounding. This was definitely not what our mother needed when trying to honour her husband of over 60 years. She was treated poorly during a difficult time in our lives. She even took the time in the weeks following dad’s passing to write them a letter detailing her concerns. She did not receive any response from them.
