We are a Housekeeping Cottage Resort located on the shore of Beautiful Shining Tree Lake in the small Northern Ontario village of Shining Tree. Located midway between the cities of Timmins and Sudbury, we are easily accessible by paved highway, but remote enough to provide you with a peaceful, relaxing vacation.

Shining Tree Lake has a variety of fish to satisfy everyone from families to serious pro's. The lake is over 5 miles long, and has miles of rugged shoreline, islands, and hidden bays to test your skills. If it's trout you're after, travel to any of the numerous back lakes to try your hand at Rainbows, Brook Trout, Lake Trout, Aurora Trout or Splake.
If ice fishing is your sport you have to try the Arctic water shed. There are countless opportunities and species in this area. Look up the regulations for zones 8 & 10 in North-Eastern Ontario and come spend a couple of days or even weeks in our house keeping cottages. We are situated on a chain of six lakes with walleye, pike, bass or whitefish.
Equipped with dishes, pots, pans, cutlery, bed linens, blankets, towels, electric refrigerator, propane cook stoves, microwave, coffee maker, BBQ etc. Cabins are propane heated. We have "centralized" washrooms and showers. Running water to all cabins is drinkable from a 110' drilled well with UV disinfecting system, water tested regularly.

Derrick and Kathy are phenomenal! My brother in law and I went up from the Wi/Mn border area and made the 14.5hr drive. We made sure to ask all the right questions prior to going up there and because of that we both tagged out by day 2! I tagged out Day one with a beautiful black bear with white blaze on the chest and BIL tagged out the next evening with a brute 300lb spring bear! Derrick and Kathy quickly became friends to us, and before leaving we had determined we WILL be back and so far on the trip home we have several times in the coming years we plan to make the trip back.
