Dr. Beth Cozens was born and raised in Amherstburg. She graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2009 and move out west to Calgary where she practiced equine and small animal medicine. Although she greatly enjoyed her time in Western Canada, after three years she got homesick and moved back to Amherstburg.
She then worked at the local humane society and emergency hospital before purchasing the Fort Malden Animal Hospital in 2014. It has long been a dream of Dr. Cozens' dream to own her a veterinary clinic in her hometown. She is passionate about preventative medicine using nutrition, weight management, and appropriate vaccination and parasite control plans to prevent disease.

We have been with Fort Malden Animal Hospital for over a decade now and wouldn't go anywhere else! We have driven all 3 of our fur babies over the years, from Windsor, because of Dr. Cozens, Dr. Dumouchelle, and the amazing staff! In the last year we have said good bye to one of our fur babies, got a new fur baby, and had the third diagnosed with a heart condition. They have been so patient, kind, accommodating, and caring, that I really can't say enough good things! Thanks for everything you do!!

Thank you so much for taking such good care of Sadie !!! I’m sure you spay dogs regularly...but we have not had to go through this procedure in 19 yrs! Sadie tends to get anxious so thank you for making the drop off, surgery procedure & pick up so easy. Your follow up call was so thoughtful. I can’t say enough about Dr Dumouchelle and her staff and how helpful they were to our family through Stewart’s illness and passing. They were so understanding and gave us the time we needed to say our Goodbyes and our last moments were filled with peace for Stewart. Thank you so much. We needed help getting a refill medication for our dog because our vet is in Michigan. After 3 weeks of calling Health Canada and Customs to see if it was OK for this medicine to be sent to us from the states… with no one returning our calls, Fort Malden Animal Hospital came through for us. I had to switch Vets because my dog doesn’t like the car ride (yes I know weird dog lol) so I heard about Dr Beth from a friend and took her advice. I’m so happy I found someone my dog loves. Dr Beth is caring, gentle and treats my dog like she would hers. This clinic has all knowledgeable friendly staff. And it’s so close to home. Thank you Fort Malden for the awesome care Franklin gets.
