Services
Dr. Keith Good grew up on a livestock farm in Waterloo, ON. He concentrates his veterinary efforts on treating farm animals over a large area from Goulais River to Blind River, Ontario. He graduated from OVC in Guelph in 1983 and moved to Desbarats to buy into the practice. He enjoys beef farming as a hobby.
To allow ample time for all patients and scheduled surgical procedures, we operate primarily by appointment. During regular office hours we will also see patients on emergency visits. A high volume of emergency or critically ill patients may cause some delay. We make every attempt to see everyone in a timely manner, we understand our clients have busy lives also.
Farm visits are provided for beef and dairy cattle, sheep, goats, swine, horses/ donkeys, alpacas, and more exotic species by special arrangement. We are able to provide routine on site surgeries for farm animals such as castration, C-sections, abomasopexys, and laceration repair as well as some non-routine surgeries.
Our goal is to help you minimize the need to treat and cure preventable diseases. Preventative medicine increases your pet's chances of having a long and healthy life. We accomplish this through routine annual physical examinations of your pet, proper nutrition, parasite control and through the use of a vaccination program based on an individualized risk assessment for your pet.
A dog teaches a boy fidelity, perseverance, and to turn around three times before lying down. Pets are humanizing. They remind us we have an obligation and responsibility to preserve and nuture and care for all life. If you are a dog and your owner suggests that you wear a sweater suggest that he wear a tail.
